spiegel.de says that armed men are suspected to be on board.
spiegel.de says that armed men are suspected to be on board.
I hope for the passengers sake that they don't get in the way of those who can help.
When I read Greek ship, this is always the first thing that pops into my mind. Yeah, Ancient Greece and all, but still. I played too much R:TW it seems. [thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3e/Model_of_a_greek_trireme.jpg[/thumb]

Damn, bad week for greek ships. Armed men?!
600 people, gosh, that's like 100 groups of 6 people. (User was banned for this post ("Why reply/" - SteveUK))
600 people, gosh, that's like 100 groups of 6 people.
Or 6 groups of 100 people. This is serious.
Or 10 groups of 3 groups of 10 groups of 2 people. [editline]30th December 2014[/editline] Or 5 groups of 5 groups of 3 groups of 2 groups of 2 groups of 2 people.
SKAI News (greek source) says that there are 700 people aboard. Reuters also reports estimates of 400 people. I still have no idea how they came up with these estimates. Armed men?!
Neither were/are greek ships. The Norman Atlantic was Italian, and Blue Sky M is Moldovan.
Update:
'Armed men aboard' #Moldova flagged MV Blue Sky M was false. Problem was crew abandoned ship. 400 to 600 #Syria migrants heading to #Italy
https://twitter.com/ksnavarra/status/549971661727223809 Well, thank god. Meanwhile, the casualty list for the Norman Atlantic has been updated to 11 dead, and there is an unknown number of missing passengers. :/
