good GOD that guy is annoying
good GOD that guy is annoying
Pretty sure no one likes him.
This is pretty dumb. edit: Is this supposed to be a joke though? Because it still isn't funny even if this is supposed to be some tongue in cheek video.
I would fucking love to see this faggot even attempt to make a Tarantino movie.
wow this kid sure is witty!!
The channel's main gimmick is searching for "sins" in movies nobody even cares about or gets bothered by, it's done ironically. I don't see why anyone would take anything on this channel serious, I think it's all fun. I really like this new series too.
I know a couple people that really, really hate his movies cause they think he's a complete hack of a director. I can kind of see what they mean since he recycles so much but I think his real strength is as a writer. I don't think anyone can argue with that. All the best scenes of his movies are long tense dialogues.
This guy acts like interesting camera angles were invented by Tarantino. I know it's a joke but this is stupid.

AKA, I don't find it unfunny because I take the complaints seriously, I just don't find the things they complain about (or the way they do it) funny. Not to mention, the guy in this vid intones every sentence the exact same way, sounds a bit tense and is generally just not a good speaker, it's a bit annoying.
I want to see somebody do something like this with classical composers. 'Everything Wrong with Beethoven's Fifth in 10 Minutes or Less' would just be him saying "THAT FUCKING MOTIF AGAIN OH MY GOD".

They're as much as chance for him to show his ability as they are a chance for him to be the biggest fanboy of his favourite films as he wants. Even the shots he recreates between his own films are there for a reason, it's just his style of shooting and I wouldn't have it any other way really. It fits what he makes well. [editline]11th December 2014[/editline] I'm trying to work out why CinemaSins started this series...the "sins" series itself, and their old "what's the damage" series are and were pretty good for quick laughs. This is just painful, I don't think any of these have been that great so far.
As someone who studies cinematography, scriptwriting and the lot, I can tell you that half of the stuff he is making fun of are basically text book storytelling techniques used by everyone.

Yeah, any good director is going to take stuff from other movies and put it into his.
I don't see why anyone would take anything on this channel serious, I think it's all fun.
usually the humour of pointing out stuff like in these videos is the truth in them. it makes you go "woah i never noticed that! wow that's so true" but then you laugh it off and think "but of course i still like the guy's movies anyways" this just comes across as kind of nit-picking and grasping at straws. there were so many examples in this video that were so weak, especially the wilhelm scream one - absolutely no idea what point was being made there. there's no punchline
this guy is an insufferable cunt. if he was joking then it'd be ok but he presents it in such a sarcy way i can never get his angle.
I thought it was pretty funny when the guy wasn't talking and they were showing all the similar shots and scenes. That doesn't make any of them bad shots or scenes though. Then again, I don't like any of Tarantino's films other than Jackie Brown or From Dusk till Dawn, and Kill Bill has a special place in my list of hated movies for managing to get half of its film references wrong. :v: e: I guess what I mean is how some of the nods to Chang Cheh in there are so stunted they come off as misinterpretation.
for managing to get half of its film references wrong. :v:
how does one even reference a movie wrongly
That guy looks really young for his voice
This thread is full of people telling their opinion and there is one guy who called the guy who voice the ''EWW'' videos a cunt. *ting*
This guy acts like interesting camera angles were invented by Tarantino. I know it's a joke but this is stupid.
Well, he did invent the "looking from inside the trunk" shot
As someone who studies cinematography, scriptwriting and the lot, I can tell you that half of the stuff he is making fun of are basically text book storytelling techniques used by everyone.
Yeah. The text book approach he takes is just executed to perfection. He takes those shots from other films because other films happened to do perfect first. There's a limit to how original a shot can be while still being a great shot. He pays homage, makes great shots in their own rights, and puts them there for well motivated reasons. Why anyone complains about that is beyond me. He's not his own cinematographer, but he does his own camera work a lot of the time, he has his fingers in every little piece of his works, so he does get a lot of credit for the way his films end up getting shot. Compare that to a lot of modern directors who are hands off on that element of the work, it's no wonder Tarintino is so loved.
CinemaSins is trying to branch out by doing this kind of stuff and he's quite clearly failing. He should just stick to his proven formula.
I think the point of these videos are less about telling us how to make a movie in said directors style And are meant to be more of a character study on what shots and techniques each director uses so you can be watching a movie and say "ah, thats a Tarantino style shot, etc.
wait hang on this dude is the cinemasins guy? lol what he looks about 17 how young was he when he started this stuff i've never really cared for cinemasins stuff anyway. most of it just felt like pointless nitpicking so i didn't get the humour
Claims Tarantino is "ripping off other films" by adding influences from other films, clearly has no concept of what "influence" is. I'd hate to hear what this guy thinks of the Star Wars films.
Wow, I'm so glad this kid knows more about cinema than an oscar winning director
wait hang on this dude is the cinemasins guy? lol what he looks about 17 how young was he when he started this stuff i've never really cared for cinemasins stuff anyway. most of it just felt like pointless nitpicking so i didn't get the humour
No, it's someone else that the CinemaSins guy is partnering with to produce these videos. His voice is much deeper.
this just comes across as kind of nit-picking and grasping at straws. there were so many examples in this video that were so weak, especially the wilhelm scream one - absolutely no idea what point was being made there. there's no punchline
yeah this video was awful. all of the points were so weak, or had no points at all. tarantino moves are filled with obscure references, he's not 'stealing scenes'. wow in kill bill he used the theme from the green hornet wow what a rip off !!!!!
