From the state that brought you the nation’s first ban on climate science comes another legislative gem: a bill that would prohibit automakers from selling their cars in the state
Source
Lol corruption. Ban competitors instead of competing with them.
Stealership's being jelly of Tesla selling directly to consumers.
Why the hell would I want to go through a dealer today, if I know what it exactly is I want to buy and that there's only one company making them? This is harming the customers and it's nothing but blatant show of corruption.
There is no reason to do this other than "we don't like it". There's nothing 'unfair' about Tesla selling directly instead of through 3rd party dealers.
I am surprised nobody commented on the title :v:
I am surprised nobody commented on the title :v:
It's funny.
What an idiotic thread title. Everywhen, kinda shows how much the automotive sales industry can't be bothered to move with the times.
I'm a North Carolinian and we're as retarded as we seem.
I'm a North Carolinian and we're as retarded as we seem.
Okay, thanks for telling us Also title is misleading as fuck
Couldn't Tesla just get their own 3rd party resellers?
Okay, thanks for telling us Also title is misleading as fuck
indeed, this is not a case of "holier than thou" it's instead "greedier than thou"
I hate my state...
There is no reason to do this other than "we don't like it". There's nothing 'unfair' about Tesla selling directly instead of through 3rd party dealers.
Besides state laws saying auto manufactures cannot sell to consumers without a third-party.
I am surprised nobody commented on the title :v:
trying too hard, leave it to smurfy
I'm a North Carolinian and we're as retarded as we seem.
Hey! I'm from Wilmington and we aren't retarded :(
Hey! I'm from Wilmington and we aren't retarded :(
We live in the same city, pal and I gotta say. This state is mondo dumb a lot of the times.
I can smell the corruption from here.
Free market capitalism my ass...
Is this even legal? This can't be legal
North Carolinians represent
Just buy it in the state next doors then.
Being as that I've lived in NC I can confirm that it is absolutely assbackwards.
Lobbying
I have never heard of this so I imagined a car with a big ass Tesla coil on it it was awesome
Besides state laws saying auto manufactures cannot sell to consumers without a third-party.
Are you implying that because of the law it's unfair? Why does a law like that even exist, all it does is stop innovation and prevent competition, which in my opinion is far more 'unfair' if such a thing even exists in the legal world. And besides, what's stopping the people who want one from just going one state over and buying one?
And besides, what's stopping the people who want one from just going one state over and buying one?
it still vastly hinders the amount of sales because they won't be able to host a showroom or have local stock, to which at least some people won't bother going too far out of the way to check out if they're teetering on decisions. I'm not even sure how it'd work if people are buying online anyways, would they just have to place an order and drive out to the nearest available dealer? Would they be capable of some form of delivery service where a guy drives it out to you and takes a rental/cab back to base? -edited title
Forcing a middle man is complete bullshit, a car manufacturer deserves the right to sell directly from their own inventory, they shouldn't require a 3rd party dealer to sell their cars. What a joke.
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? No! - says the man in North Carolina - It belongs to the car dealership!
I have never heard of this so I imagined a car with a big ass Tesla coil on it it was awesome
Tesla cars, while fairly expensive, are pretty incredible for being able to provide a direct source to the consumer rather than waste your time and money through a dealership. After all, if you buy directly from the manufacturer, you're saving yourself a boatload of money and time that would normally be spent dredging through middlemen for better deals.
