"Our agencies will have no choice but to comply with the Supreme Court's decision when the 5th Circuit Court orders the ruling into effect – even though we disagree with it and believe it was wrongly decided, and has nothing to do with the Constitution," said Mike Reed, Jindal's spokesman in the governor's office.
kill me now source
[del]Does this guy not understand anything? Supreme Court beats Circuit Court, you dumb fucker. This is either gross incompetence or defying the SCOTUS.[/del] I don't know anything about Louisiana legal processes.
"Marriage between a man and a woman was established by God, and no earthly court can alter that," Jindal said in a written statement while traveling in Iowa, "If we want to save some money lets [sic] just get rid of the court."
Let's keep appealing to religion and traditions maybe if we plug it enough we'll get the support we need to stop this happening
oh and http://www.bobbyjindal.com/announcement/
Time to impeach and try him for treason.
Isn't this like, really really bad? Can you not only kill your career but go to jail for this? This guy is insane lol
at this point I doubt he cares, look at how all the other conservatives howled when the decision passed Why do people care so much about something that doesnt harm them at all lmao
The South will rise again?
What's with the wrong titles recently? Did none of you guys read the article? Even in the headline in the OP he's saying that he will comply, he just disagrees.
Does this guy not understand anything? Supreme Court beats Circuit Court, you dumb fucker. This is either gross incompetence or defying the SCOTUS.
It is required by law for an appellate court (in this, the Supreme Court) to send the case back down to the original judge, who will reverse it. Until the original judge corrects his decision, it is not law yet. Sent back to lower court
The motion asked the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to send the couples' case back to a district judge with an order to reverse a previous ruling upholding the state's gay marriage ban.

Isn't this like, really really bad? Can you not only kill your career but go to jail for this? This guy is insane lol
They'll just try to slow down the procedures, paperwork, and general roll out of it. They'll slightly delay it, but nothing more. Even the Republicans aren't dumb enough to actively defy the Supreme Court.
Why do people care so much about something that doesnt harm them at all lmao
Because it harms their values and ideas of what is good and what isn't.
They'll just try to slow down the procedures, paperwork, and general roll out of it. They'll slightly delay it, but nothing more. They did it so much that the fucking national guard had to be deployed to protect fucking kids in school. Little Rock 9 brah.
even though we disagree with it and believe it was wrongly decided, and has nothing to do with the Constitution
A group of people getting equal rights has nothing to do with the constitution? Yeah, you're ri- Nope, can't say it with a straight face. Go fuck yourself.
A group of people getting equal rights has nothing to do with the constitution? Yeah, you're ri- Nope, can't say it with a straight face. Go fuck yourself.
It originally meant equal rights for all straight, white men.
It originally meant equal rights for all rich straight, white men.

Yeah they are. They did it so much that the fucking national guard had to be deployed to protect fucking kids in school. Little Rock 9 brah.
That was the 101st Airborne and they were sent by Dwight D. Eisenhower. The governor that defied the orders was Orval Faubus, a Southern Democrat, he called out the Arkansas National Guard and local militias to prevent the kids from going to school. Just a little nitpicking.
What's with the wrong titles recently? Did none of you guys read the article? Even in the headline in the OP he's saying that he will comply, he just disagrees.
Did you not read the article? He is "waiting on a lower court ruling" but knows the lower circuit court will rule in favor of gay marriage anyways as they overturn their decision. He is disregarding the Supreme Court to stall for no reason other than bigotry.
The Jindal administration has said Louisiana's state government won't recognize gay marriage until a lower court rules on the issue. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has taken up a gay marriage case, but was waiting on the Supreme Court ruling before moving forward with it. The Jindal administration is now delaying recognition of gay marriage in Louisiana until this appeals court decision is issued.
Yeah defend freedom of religion, right to bear arms, and free speech but THE GAYS ARE MARRYING? WHAT DO YOU MEAN SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE BY GOD NO HOMOS ARE KISSING HERE!
No one here even likes him, he's a nutter
The last (couple of) time(s) the South disobeyed the Constitution, we sent troops in. #OccupyBatonRouge
Seriously, LA, with faith aside... The US Constitution says separation of church and state. Forbidding gay marriage is against the law. Stop being douchebags. Just tell the churches that they don't have to recognize the marriages and move on. You have more important issues to worry about.
Just wanted to state that the opinion of Jindal does not reflect the opinion of Louisiana. I'm fucking thrilled that the supreme court ruled in favor of gay marriage. Would be just peachy here if Jindal would shut his noise hole for 3 seconds.
holy shit when will we remove jindal from office he's fucking ruining our state every turn he takes. no one here wants him in office, literally no one. he needs to leave already and let someone who is actually level-headed take control of Louisiana.
Lmao repubs are fucked game over guys go home. Only Rubio, Rand, Jeb, and the CEO left standing after the gay marriage bloodshed.
What's with the wrong titles recently? Did none of you guys read the article? Even in the headline in the OP he's saying that he will comply, he just disagrees.
no, the title is very much correct. He's only complying because he's forced to, but he's definitely trying to delay it
Time to impeach and try him for treason.
I don't think you know what treason means.
I don't think you know what treason means.
I don't think you're the one who actually knows what treason means. "The action of betraying someone or something." Though usually through murder or violence, treason as a term can be defined as any grand act of betrayal, and is usually associated with government entities or persons. In this case, it would be treason because he is directly going against the law of a higher court.

A more enlightened state would say "Okay, marriage licenses are available starting tomorrow, and we'll just work on this paperwork in the background, don't you worry about it, you kids go get married and have fun, now." Jindal's going, "NOTHING IS CHANGING UNTIL THE INK HAS DRIED ON THE FINAL PAGE." That's not treason, it's being a stubborn cunt, which is not against the law or else we'd be hanging most of Congress right now. If Jindal was legitimately obstructing it, he'd be in contempt of court or in some other way failing to fulfill the duties of his office, and there'd be other ways of dealing with him, but it's not treason unless he starts a civil war or sends weapons to ISIS to help them fight Gaymerica.

There's a difference.
