Sources have confirmed that the silver Mercedes was followed by the gunman on the motorbike. A number of shots were fired and the back window of the car was smashed. A bullet hole was also visible on the windscreen. The intended target drove his car around the corner to Store St garda station where he went inside to seek the help of gardai. He told them he had been shot.

This is the second time O’Neill has been a victim of a shooting. In May of last year, he narrowly escaped with his life after he was shot as he sat in his car outside a west Dublin pub. Despite suffering injuries in his chest and shoulder, O’Neill managed to drive to nearby Cloverhill Prison where he received help.
fun fact: according to studies that i'm to lazy to source to, only 40% of people admitted to a hospital with a gunshot wound to their head die
I'm glad he still had basic motor functions...
fun fact: according to studies that i'm to lazy to source to, only 40% of people admitted to a hospital with a gunshot wound to their head die
That's probably because most who get shot in the head are DOA, those that are still alive are lucky but are probably in unimaginable pain.
fun fact: according to studies that i'm to lazy to source to, only 40% of people admitted to a hospital with a gunshot wound to their head die
Well to be honest here, most of them wouldn't make it to the hospital in the first place. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Dammit Mabus!
That's probably because most who get shot in the head are DOA, those that are still alive are lucky but are probably in unimaginable pain.
Actually, getting shot in the head would be like the least painful place to get shot considering the brain lacks pain receptors.
Actually, getting shot in the head would be like the least painful place to get shot considering the brain lacks pain receptors.
Yeah your brain wouldn't feel it, the rest of your head would.
isn't it something like, if shot in the head you are more likely to die of bloodloss than actuall damage to the brain?
The sudden blood pressure differences in your veins and arteries after they're been ripped apart would shut down your brain p quick
I find headshot very lethal after investigating this video, that guy was very lucky managed to drive all the way to the police station and all that. He be like "Fuck bullets i stop them with my head"
This guy has pissed someone off.
Well, yeah, when you shoot someone in the head, you supposedly want him dead. If he isn't dead, I'm pretty sure whoever shot him is pretty damn mad about it.
i'd be pretty mad too, i mean come on headshots should be instant kill, that's the rules this guy should be banned for not following the rules, i don't know who he thinks he is ill contact an admin, someone get me a weegee board
isn't it something like, if shot in the head you are more likely to die of bloodloss than actuall damage to the brain?
Nah I'm pretty sure the bullet either blowing parts of your brain out or rattling around inside your skull at high speed are pretty likely to kill you.
Nah I'm pretty sure the bullet either blowing parts of your brain out or rattling around inside your skull at high speed are pretty likely to kill you.
You'd be seriously surprised. First, bullets don't often rattle around in your skull. They'll either enter and exit cleanly, or enter and get lodged into the skull on the other side. Next, brain trauma won't necessarily kill you instantly - especially not in comparison to something like trauma to the heart of the lungs, which will stop your circulation or suffocate you. There's a ton of people who have survived gunshot wounds to the head without much noticeable handicapping of the brain or mental processes. Blood loss is a much more serious and immediate issue than brain trauma. You won't die because you have a hole going through your brain - you'll die because that hole is pouring blood out of your body. The fact that he was mentally capable enough to drive a car is evidence enough. The brain is very localized, and any damage will be localized to very specific areas. It's sort of like that famous psychology study where a mine explosion sent a metal rod through a guy's cheek and out the top of his skull. He survived, and the most noticeable effect was just a 180 in personality. The body runs most of its systems without direct mental input. I don't think there's a single example of brain trauma that shut down respiratory/cardiovascular/lymphatic/reproductive/digestive systems, because they tend to operate almost independently from the brain. If he's lucky, he won't have any seriously noticeable mental effects. If he's unlucky, he'll be comatose. It almost totally depends on the areas of the brain that the bullet passed through. If he does die, it'll be to blood loss and trauma, and not due to the physical damage caused to the brain.

I live just in the city centre, the point that some random biker can drive up to me and shoot me in head simply is a bit worrying, gotta install bulletproof glass in my car :v: P.S - Ireland has some serious problem with law and enforcing it.
Guy confirmed for being a T-1000!
