• Netanyahu to the US: Don't force us in to a cease-fire.
Following the quick collapse of the ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, told the White House not to force a truce with Palestinian militants. Sources familiar with conversations between Netanyahu and senior US officials, including the secretary of state, John Kerry, say the Israeli leader advised the Obama administration “not to ever second-guess me again” on the matter. The officials also said Netanyahu said he should be “trusted” on the issue and about the unwillingness of Hamas to enter into and follow through on ceasefire talks. The Obama administration on Friday condemned “outrageous” violations of an internationally brokered Gaza ceasefire by Palestinian militants and called the apparent capture of an Israeli soldier a “barbaric” action. The strong reaction came as top Israeli officials questioned the effort to forge the truce, accusing the US and the United Nations of being naive in assuming Hamas would adhere to its terms. The officials also blamed the Gulf state of Qatar for not forcing the militants to comply.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIC8JJjG_sI
this guy is a tool, but its not like a cease-fire would stop hamas from being dicks.
Force them into a cease-fire. Do it.
this guy is a tool, but its not like a cease-fire would stop hamas from being dicks.
Yeah, as much as I'm really not okay with Israel bombing the piss out of refugee camps and hospitals I really do understand where Netanyahu is coming from on this one. Hamas has one goal and one goal only: destroy Israel and kill all the Israelis, and they really couldn't give a fuck about Palestine. That's why they're so hardcore on stifling any groups that operate in parallel to them in their fight against the IDF, they don't want to risk losing legitimacy to a group that isn't fucking crazy. I think if there was a large militia organization in Gaza then Israel would be less harsh in their response to Hamas. I think they'd go the route of supplying this group with either intelligence or equipment, because every pack of kids they bomb in response to a rocket strike spawns more supporters and recruits for Hamas. Having another group that would be less of an enemy (let's face it, they'd still really hate Israel) to offset and fight Hamas would be like a gift from above for the Israelis.
We should tell them if they want us to keep sending them bombs to drop on Palestinian children, then we won't be sending them any more $50,000-a-pop Iron Dome missiles. It only seems fair that if they want to keep blasting women and children into bloody chunks, then their population can face the consequences for that decision. After all, they voted for that psychopathic asshole. Seems like a logical choice to me. They can have everything but Iron Dome, or nothing but Iron Dome. I don't mind helping an "ally" pay for defensive weapons for their cities, but I have a serious problem with giving them munitions to slaughter innocent people AND equipment to shield them from the consequences. Israel today is living proof that when a country doesn't have to face the consequences of war, they are far more willing to use force to solve their problems. America is doing the same thing with drones. Israel-Gaza is indicative of the future of warfare: Rich people sitting in air-conditioned rooms and murdering poor brown people who can't hurt them back.
Why would they want ceasefire though? Hamas sees it as a battle for their existence and with massive incursions currently into Gaza why would they want to cease fighting? Israel would just further solidify their hold on the land and break apart Gaza. Is it worth them fighting knowing the eventually fate, I dunno. I wonder in a few months time what the result will be.
Fuck off Satanyahu.
"Not to ever second guess me again" - something about that choice of words is really aggravating, like fuck you the only reason you're in any position of power is thanks to the US you cunt.
"Not to ever second guess me again" - something about that choice of words is really aggravating, like fuck you the only reason you're in any position of power is thanks to the US you cunt.
the fact that even just trying a temporary cease fire is what made him react this way when the rest of the world wants U.N. investigations and maybe even sanctions just shows how much Israel depends on the U.S. to keep this up. And how much they have our balls in a vice grip anyway.
the reason he asks the us to not force them into any more ceasefires is because every time it happens hamas regroups and rearms, and then proceeds to set up even more ambushes for the IDF and eventually breaks the truce by shooting rockets into israel and stuff like suicide bombing israeli squads in an attempt to kidnap any survivors. Don't cease-fire me, bro
His words were a bit ominous, talking about not second-guessing him. Stop sending Israel aid and see just how much his entire state second-guesses him.
Good. While Netanyahu is a political cunt, there's nothing a 'ceasefire' can accomplish other than give Hamas the upper hand once more. Have you guys forgotten what exactly has happened during the past ten cease-fires?
