Update It's over now, but a world record! Over ten hours long, 98 aces for Isner in a match, a definite world record. If you go on ESPN2 right now (US) you can watch the longest tennis game in history. Actually they're covering the world cup now, so here's an online stream http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=6385 American Isner is battling the Frenchmen Mahut for the fifth tie breaking set. As of posting, it's been 87 games in this final set. This entire match has been going on for eight hours now. I'm not into tennis at all, but this is history in the making right now. Check it out! They keep cutting to other games, but stay with it they'll get back to it.
That's a long time. [editline]06:15PM[/editline] Bet they're tired.
I mean, golf lasts long enough, but over 8 hours? fuck that.
I think the only way this is going to end is if someone collapses
At hour 3 I'd be like "Fuck it you win"
I think the only way this is going to end is if someone collapses
Which will undoubtedly happen.
A cool way to end a sport.
Fuck, I was gunna post this, Ninja'd by 3 minutes, rate me heart
The winner has to play tomorrow :v:
A battle to the death on television? Neat!
It's also cutting into the Australia world cup pre-game coverage, I wonder what they'll do in 9 minutes when the game is supposed to happen.
Federer won his game. I don't know how you go through 8 hours of one of the most physically demanding sports today.
I was eating lunch watching it and everyone at my table was like. Holy shit dude look at this.
Federer won.
That's a different game
Were they actually showing it on TV for the whole 8 hours or whatever? Oh wow it still hasn't ended
90 games now in this set
You can watch it here btw: http://atdhe.net/20580/watch-wimbledon-mahut-vs-isner
That's a different game
I knew that. :<
The winner has to play tomorrow :v:
ahahahaha. More of a reason just to say fuck it and try next year.
Were they actually showing it on TV for the whole 8 hours or whatever? Oh wow it still hasn't ended
Off and on, they were covering it, then the England Slovenia match happened, then they were like "We're back and still battling here at Wimbledon!"
I bet they're tired.
This definitely makes tennis more exciting.
8 hours is a long time to play tennis, holy shit.
Dear god. :ohdear:
This definitely makes tennis more exciting.
No. Tennis is only exciting if you're playing.
8 hours of tennis. I bet the audience has some neck aches.
It's pretty hot today too.
