Haven't seen a thread on this here so I thought I'd cook one up.
[release]
Winter Sport
A winter sport is a sport commonly played during winter. As a formal term, it refers to a sport played on snow or ice; informally, it can refer to sports played in winter that are also played year-round, such as basketball. The main winter sports are ice hockey and figure skating, sledding events, such as luge, skeleton and bobsleigh, skiing (Alpine and Nordic) and snowboarding. Other common winter sports include skiboarding, monoskiing, skwal and snowmobiling.

I'm looking forward to going Snowboarding in the Rockies (Colorado, probably Copper Mountain again) this year, and I'm looking around on the net for a new board and some bindings.
I know it's April and all, but is anybody else planning anything this year? It's a bit of a pain in the arse for me because I'm in the UK and good runs are obviously hard to come by, and places like the Chillfactor don't live up to real Snowboarding. So I'm still pretty much an Amateur, but a few weekends in Colorado should get me back into the swing of things.

inb4 nobody posts because nobody does any of these sports
It's a bit late for a winter thread, don't ya think?
Anyway, I live in western Canada, so we get some pretty good skiing around here. I normally hang about Interior B.C/ West Alberta. And normally ski at kicking horse, Lake Louise, RED and sometimes head down to the U.S, around Schweitzer. I use a pair of 2007 HEAD Mojo '80s, that i picked up for about $700 at a ski show, but I'm looking at getting a pair of i.PEAK 78 FLR Pro SW PR Pro. If anyone goes skiing in the Rockies, always look a bit north, the "Powder Highway" is one of the best areas in North America for snow.

I was thinking about making a thread about this actually.
I snowboard, yet I live in Australia, so our snow is pretty average I think.
Looking at buying my own snow hear this year, mainly just clothes at the moment, no way I can afford a board just yet.
I can ice skate too, only it costs about $30 per person here as it's all indoors.
I was about to make fun of you because I, in the northern hemisphere, am heading through spring.
I then remembered that the southern hemisphere is about to experience fall or winter. So have fun.
