Its a pretty well known fact that the year has not been a great one for Sony. Hackers have gone deep in to the PlayStation 3 and have managed to reveal loop holes.
Now a hacker who goes by the name of ’Darkhacker ‘ has gone ahead and released a hack on the CPU of the PS3. This exploit is similar to Geohotz’s where it was hardware based, a memory glitching exploit that was released in 2010. However, this new hack allows access of memory and games.
He realizes the fact that he may be sued by Sony but it looks he is pretty adamant about the same.

i know by releasing this exploit ill probably be taken to court or sued but sony they can go to hell all i care for what there doing to us hackers ill fight until the last min i got of my life if i have to for the right of the people

We shall keep you updated on how this one develops.
Note: GamingBolt in no way supports something which is harmful for the industry and encourages it’s readers to do the same.
i feel bad for sony cause they know they cant fix this shit now
thats what you get when you try to fuck the community over...
Oh great, something else Sony can get their panties in a bunch about.
At this rate, Sony should just get it over with and brick all PS3s.
His court statement will be fun to read, with no punctuation whatsoever.
Darkhacker is the true hero of the hacker world, may his legend live on in our hearts.
Didn't quite understand what this exploit does
fight for the right of the people? m8 u cracked a game console calm down

They deserve it for removing OtherOS
it was cool up until "they can go to hell all i care for what there doing to us hackers ill fight until the last min i got of my life if i have to for the right of the people"
why do people get upset when manufacturers remind you that rarely do manufacturers actually appreciate people hacking shit? Google and Nokia are probably the only major companies that actually appreciate hacking, everyone else seems to hate it. so, why are people like this guy still getting all upset about it? it's like those people that bitch about getting speeding tickets when they're going 15 miles+ above the limit.
of course, not saying hold off on hacking/rooting/jailbreaking/CFW/>your word of choice<, just saying drop the silly ignorance fueled attitude.

"OtherOS" was so hilariously restricted that it defeated its own purpose.

it was basically like converting a Ferrari to a Datsun
really

and interesting spelling/grammatical errors. for example, i'm guessing this is the translation process for one of the words.
by -> buy -> but
I wouldn't trust code from a guy with zero grammar skills whatsoever. :colbert:

Grammar =/= programming. Also, his grammar is fine, but his spelling is not.

He lives in a higher plane of reality, he thinks in loops and pointers, why should he use conventional ways of communication.
At this rate, Sony should just get it over with and brick all PS3s.
But, my games :saddowns:
I also don't want another PS3 bricked.

he cant think like a normal person anymore. he has to write a line of code then deconstruct it to find the letters he needs to use
It amazes me (not in a good way) that this kid is willing to take his chances with sony's legal team and possibly ruin his life over some video games.
Of what kind is the exploit?
Not a great year for Sony so far. And yeah, they kind of asked for this with their reaction.
Have a read.
Second line..
Who is geohotz and what does his memory glitching exploit do?
What a fat nerd.
I don't understand what are they fighting against? Sony releases a console, you buy console, you hack it and make all kinds of exploits: "Yeah! Take that, sony, you fucks!"

You've not getting ANY of this.

A product is a product and consumer's rights are consumer's right, be it a videogame console or a car.
[editline]8th March 2011[/editline]
Also I don't feel sorry for Sony in the slightest. They used their scare and Gestapo tactics and now they are taking it in the ass.

a product is a product and consumer's rights are listed in the agreements you check off saying you read and agree to when you turn the product on for the first time. you know, an end user license agreement? that thing that pretty much all things electronics have, software and hardware?

Gestapo = secret police. Sony hasn't been secretive at all in their lawsuit against Geohotz.
Also: :godwin:

Translation: I don't have much of a future, so it's not like a blemish on my permanent record will do much damage.
He is acting like some sort of freedom fighter. What the fuck has Sony ever done to "the people"? They released a great console that me and my friends enjoy and now the hackers are coming up with some bullshit to justify their actions.

Because the online community seems to treat everything like they're fighting against some fascist dictator. A lot of these people will never have real-life experiences to relate to, so they equate pissing and moaning at Sony being unfair by removing OtherOS to the Gestapo.

As long as this bullshit doesn't affect legitimate PS3 users and putting our consoles at risk. Those "freedom fighters" can do whatever the hell they want.
It's actually another hacker who "left" the scene.
