Whilst the heads of Israel have been doing some shit that is universally disagreeable, I wouldn't go as far as to label the entire damn country as a "terrorist state". Only children and idiots would make such a blanket statement, when it's very likely the dumbasses in the big house who're spearheading the foolhardy indiscriminate shellings against the Strip because they're afraid of Hamas attacks.
The mortar shell is the weapon of the sluggard, the coward and the heartless cunt. If you're going to fight an organization, do it like surgery and only eliminate (or if possible just incapacitate) the enemy combatants, using something relatively clean and precise like a sniper rifle rather than something as retarded and indiscriminate as an explosive shell that might blow a little girl's face off.
The only way to make war less hellish, other than the optimistic and idealistic notion of not having the war in the first place, is to be surgical and discerning, a calm and collected professional that uses precise tools for the job, bringing death (or at least incapacitating non-lethal injury) only to those who are truly the enemy. The less horrific, traumatizing and inconvenient a warzone is for those who have to live there, the better for everyone. Hell, ideally the best kind of soldier for the modern battlefield would probably be a skilled marksman with expert medical knowledge, killing quick and clean whilst patching up survivors and holding no hatred in their hearts.
I really don't see why everyone finds it so hard to understand that this guy is for real. I see no reason as to why they WOULDN'T move in. I'm sure most countries would do something if they had missiles fired at civilian cities.
Swap the situation a little, if the USA was fired upon by mexican missiles on multiple occasions and did nothing I'm sure everyone would be getting just as pissed off. I don't get why it's ok for one country to try to protect it's civilians (albeit not in the best way possible) while it's terrible if another does. Is there something I'm missing in this situation because I can't see why it's so hard to understand this view, maybe I haven't been informed correctly or haven't been keeping up with what's going down too well.

Not as easy as it sounds.
You have to remember that the Gaza strip is still the most densely populated part of earth and Israel's government is all too eager to use asymmetrical warfare (bombing Hamas into submission with superior firepower) in order to protect their interests. There's literally no way to stop this massacre in the short term. Even if the IDF manages to crush Hamas, the hatred will live on and they will keep coming back to avenge their fellow Palestinians.
There has to be an actual effort for co-existence and cooperation between the two sides if they want to put this war to an end. Both Hamas and Israel's government can do pretty much whatever they want because Palestinians and Israelis are angry and scared. They'll roll with anything the big boys say as long as they feel secure or vindicated.
