The original shader that I modified does that. You can even set a negative radius so it feels like you're inside a sphere with the land curling up.

There are a couple mods that can help out getting some extra FPS, and apparently using the pre-release Java 1.7 increases performance (risk of a little instability, 1.7 is still in testing, but it's always worth a shot)
