• China Considering Military Action Against India: Report
    41 replies, posted
Two combative articles published in China’s state-run Global Times newspaper have raised fears of military clashes in the disputed Doklam region that lies at the junction between China, Bhutan and India. Since June 16, when Indian forces sought to prevent China from building a road in a part of the plateau claimed by Bhutan, the two powers have been locked in a standoff in the region. Now, the Times of India reports, a top Chinese academic has written in the state organ that China is planning a "small-scale military operation to expel Indian troops within two weeks.”
http://www.newsweek.com/china-india-doklam-military-647036
There is no such thing as a "small scale operation" between two titans of Asia
It's just opinion pieces isn't it.
It's just opinion pieces isn't it.
it's a statement by the official state-run media
Nothing wrong with a friendly small-scale skirmish between nuclear powers!
Nothing wrong with a friendly small-scale skirmish between nuclear powers!
Wouldn't be the first time. As an Indian myself, I just wish the two powers would start proper negotiations on where exactly the border lies instead of avoiding them.
Still wondering how people rationalize sending thousands of men to their potential death for a little sliver of land that, in the long run, doesn't even matter much.

Controlling the water in the region is extremely important.
Good video on the subject:

I still think human lives are more important.

Is it just me or is the world fucking falling apart today?
Is it just me or is the world fucking falling apart today?
If you look at history, no empire has lasted forever. Those in power today will inevitably splinter or be conquered, just like they always have. Figures like Trump accelerate the fall of the United States and much of the West. That's part of why people want him out.
Wouldn't be the first time.
Is it just me or is the world fucking falling apart today?
There is tension no doubt, but media will also always play into people's fear. Despite Global Times being a state sanctioned media, it's still a shit tabloid. I remember them constantly talk about retaking Taiwan and fighting USA. They keep parroting the same crap, that then get quoted by Western media as representing the actual Chinese administration. I'm fairly sure China doesn't want to destroy itself by fighting the entire world. China hits India, Pakistan will join in, then China leaves and you've got two heated countries going at each other. This is absolutely fucking horrid
:smug:
Uh...he said that because it was related to his point... Dont know what you're getting at, but you look ridiculous doing this.
:smug:
Trump is ruining relations between the USA and all of its allies. How is that not deteriorating the US?
:smug:
What if I told you he was the most corrupt, most immoral politician out there?
usa was already in decline/stagnation long before trump came along
usa was already in decline/stagnation long before trump came along
I dunno, we did pretty well under Obama.
