(“DHX”) (NASDAQ: DHXM; TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), the world’s leading independent, pure-play kids’ content company, and Dentsu Entertainment USA, Inc. have struck a global deal to develop, co-produce, distribute and jointly manage licensing for a new Mega Man™ animated series based upon the legendary Capcom Mega Man video game franchise. The deal was announced today by Yuichi Kinoshita, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dentsu Entertainment USA, Inc., and by Asaph Fipke, Chief Content Officer of DHX. Under the terms of the deal, Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX will manage all global rights for the new Mega Man animated series. Distribution and licensing in the United States will be handled by DHX in collaboration with Dentsu Entertainment USA. Dentsu Inc., parent company of Dentsu Entertainment USA, will manage distribution and licensing in Asia. DHX will manage distribution and licensing in all other territories. Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX will both participate in all revenue streams related to this agreement. Aimed at kids 6 to 9, as well as their parents who grew up loving the videogames, the animated series will feature exciting new technologies and robots, as well as the introduction of Mega Man’s alter-ego, Aki Light, a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot. When activated, his skin re-forms – in a flurry of computer code and visual pyrotechnics – into a suit of impenetrable nanocore armor, including the iconic Mega Buster arm cannon and helmet. Beloved characters, like Rush, will return - while new characters, like Mega Mini™, will make their debut! The new Mega Man animated series has a target air date of 2017, coinciding with the franchise's 30th anniversary. Man of Action Entertainment are creators of the $4.5 billion franchise Ben 10, Generator Rex, the team and characters in the Academy Award®-winner Big Hero 6, and the executive producers/writers who launched Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Avengers Assemble. Man of Action will executive produce the all-new Mega Man.
Official Press Release
that's a pretty ugly mega man
Man of Action Entertainment are creators of the $4.5 billion franchise Ben 10
No wonder he looks like a Flash animation in that logo. Jesus.
MegaMan Tron edition.
He looks terrible, what the fuck.
Well... It somewhat looks like Megaman. So there's that.
Doesn't really look like a super fighting robot to me.
First the Mighty No. 9 trailer, now this.
First the Mighty No. 9 trailer, now this.
mega man fans on suicide watch

it sounds like a shitty copy of my life as a teenage robot
I mean I guess the armor looks okay, but that face... that face doesn't.
Looks like a bootleg Mega Man X
No wonder he looks like a Flash animation in that logo. Jesus.
Woah. Ben 10 is a multi BILLION dollar franchise? What the fuck?
Fuck me, it's another show about a kid who has to save the day and survive questionable cafeteria food.
I bet they'll get Cutman to warn kids about the danger of running with scissors.
He looks more like Flash Man and Gemini Man's bastard son than Mega Man.
Woah. Ben 10 is a multi BILLION dollar franchise? What the fuck?
Toy sales.
Why not go with a more simpler design like how he looked in Megaman 8's cutscenes? [t]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/8h4Vt8MR8NY/hqdefault.jpg[/t]
Aw fuck no thank you. That's one ugly-ass Megaman.
why didn't they go with the all-star classic design
Or the fresh Captain N Megaman design
No wonder he looks like a Flash animation in that logo. Jesus.
Ben 10 was actually pretty alright the design for this though is just awkward
Why does he look like a mii wearing a terrible costume?
This reminds me more of Astro Boy than Mega Man.
To be fair, Mega Man was practically a homage to Astro Boy and Casshern in various ways. The X series expounded in its own fashion on the Casshern similarities, and if you want to go modern, then the Zero series were the best Casshern Sins games you'll get. What boggles my mind is the japanese name for his normal persona, instead of simply Rock. It comes off as odd to mix japanese and english together for a name. What worries me is that the character looks like a CGI render from the early 00's, and I already think I have a feeling of how this will go down, especially if they're 15 minute episodes like most other series nowadays. edit:
Beloved characters, like Rush, will return - while new characters, like Mega Mini™, will make their debut!
and this is pretty much exactly what I feared it could be; toy advertising characters. I wouldn't be surprised if this is Capcom's hands-off anniversary attempt for next year to make Mega Man relevant again and get another cash grab off of him.
My mind is telling me to cry, but my body is numb. Why must everything I, among many others like, eventually turn into a shitshow?
why didn't they go with the all-star classic design
The pose isn't far off, frankly.
Looks like something Ken Penders drawn during his spare time.
Holy shit it never fuckin ends
The Archie Mega Man comics did a much better job than any adaptation of mega man I've seen (That's official). Edit:
