Man denied entry to Legoland because he didn’t bring a child
Every kid loves LEGO -- and plenty of adults do, too. But according to the rules of the Legoland Discovery Center, grown-ups aren’t allowed in without child supervision.
John St. Onge, a 63-year-old Lego fan from Windsor, Ontario, was introduced to this little known rule the hard way when he was denied admission to a Legoland Discovery Center.
St. Onge has been a LEGO enthusiast for nearly 30 years, having collected some 72 sets -- roughly 50,000 pieces -- since raising his kids on the beloved toys. Health issues have prevented him from traveling to Denmark to visit the glorious LEGO HQ, so when he learned that a Legoland was located just a few hours away in nearby Toronto, he and his daughter Nicole saved up some cash and drove over.
Unfortunately, they were turned away at the door when an employee told them they couldn’t get in without a kid.
"They wouldn't let us go in and so we asked to see a manager," Nicole told CTV News. "Five minutes later the employee came back and said the manager was too busy to see us, but that was their policy, we weren't allowed in without a child and there was nothing they could do about it.
Aww come on, that sucks.
I imagine it might probably be for security of the kids because it might be considered creepy to go there as adult on your own, but I doubht a 63 year old guy looked like a rapist.
Age discrimination is a problem
That has to be dumbest rule I've ever heard..
I understand the policy, but I don't agree with it. Dude was just having a vacation with his daughter; Lego is probably something they bonded over when she was still a kid. Even if he had been flying solo, Lego has been around for a hell of a long time. It's not so odd that a 60-year-old man would be interested in them, considering he probably grew up with them.
Wow, thats fucking disgusting on the parks part. I hope he steps on legos.
Shit, now I gotta kidnap some kid to get into Legoland.
Lego isn't just for kids. I used lego to print me 3d printed gun.
Cool, my City is in the news again!

should children be allowed inside casinos
the logic for both is just as arbitrary

Except there is a good reason children arent, because gambling is something that requires a lot of responsibility

They don't have to let the children gamble, just as Lego Land wouldn't have to let adults on the rides that only work for children.
There are tons of places that children simply aren't allowed to go, many of them arbitrary. (Some restaurants have even started banning children) You can't support one kind of arbitrary age discrimination but not another.

Gambling in most countries is age restricted by law. A lot of restaurants and bars will only allow children in if they're accompanied by an adult and eating a meal, because of alcohol being age restricted by law.
Your point is moot.
Children arent being allowed into fancy as shit resturants because children are loudass fuckers that gotta cry and scream all the fucking time you know, that's why they arent allowed.
Shoot. I don't know if the Legoland in California will do that, because I really want to go back there, but not bring a kid.
But it's age discrimination, his point is valid.

you're comparing a lego enthusiast not being allowed to enter legoland cause he's too old to a child not being allowed into an area that's generally filled with smoking, drinking, and gambling
i've been noticing your posts have been getting shittier and shittier recently
Shit, now I gotta kidnap some kid to get into Legoland.
the most willing kidnapping ever
"GET IN THE FUCKING VAN!"
"Noo! Where are you taking me?"
"LEGOLAND."
"... STEP ON IT.*"
*[sp]if you make a joke about this double entendre i will fucking wreck you[/sp]

And parties of adults aren't allowed in lego land because lego land is a place for fun and all adults want to do is talk about their lawns and do taxes

"What are you, a masochist?"
[sp]Come at me[/sp]
I got so confused at where this happened. I thought there were only 3 parks in Windsor, Billund and California, then the guy came from Windsor, Ontario.
All I know is I want to revisit the Windsor park. 10 years is too long.

they should have an adult male version of legoland
DADLAND
lawns, taxes, houses with lawns, baseball mitts, cubicles and offices, and other dad related paraphernalia
He should have cried out "But what about my inner child?!?! Think of the inner children!"

There used to be one near San Diego I went to with my dad like 10 years ago, but I'm pretty sure it closed because next time we went down south it was vacant and.
Very depressing for my 10 year self that wanted to revisit legoland :(

sounds like something right out of fairly odd parents
I used lego to print me 3d printed gun.
That doesn't make any sense and sounds like BS to be honest.
This is stupid, LEGO is a huge thing and even has stuff aimed specifically at grown ups, the whole builder series is for grown ups only.
Really? Even when there's an established AFOL community?
