My doc just recently (about a week and a half ago) put me on amitriptyline. I had to take 10 mg at bedtime everyday for about a week. Now, I have to take 20 mg before bedtime everyday. I am not exactly sure why the doctor put me on it. I get migraines, which is what I went to the doctor for in the first place, but I'm also depressed. Should the amitriptyline help with my depression? I'm also anxious and irritable. Would it help with my social anxiety as well? When should I expect to feel these effects from it?
i hate to be a dick about this but you guys have to learn to research for yourselves. i probably sound like your dad but you wont get anywhere if everything is handed to you.
in my opinion this place should be more about opinions and shit, not something that would take 5 minutes to figure out doing a bit of sleuthing on your own.
im sorry if this is a terrible thing to say, but im getting tired of all of these threads that would probably be better off in fast threads anyways.

just to make this post somewhat valid it should help with your depression, which could be causing your anxieties and irritability.
that took me 1 minute, maybe 3 or in between.
i think even 15 minutes of your own time would be worth less clutter here.

eh, I understand that he should just google it, But I also understand that he thinks people on FP might give him perfect information that google might not

either make a megathread or search for it
both dont take that much time, time you should be using properly instead of making some dumb thread in 6 seconds.
and our facts are just as good as google's if not worse more often than not because half the kids here could be using street facts
Although I don't see why foodstuffs is getting pissed off at something that isn't a big deal, I also don't see why you (OP) don't just trust your doctor to prescribe you something that is suppose to treat depression. It's not like his/her goal is to give you random drugs and hope it fixes the problem.

but yeah, if someone wants to we could make a general questions and knowledge thread, or revive the dead one if it hasn't been deleted or locked, i'd support it and frequent it as much as possible to help those who are to dumb to use google or one of the many drug knowledge sites. i don't mind people asking dumb questions cause i'm glad to help, just we don't need 10+ threads on the first page that require one good post to be worthless.
