I'll Start mine was Skyfall (because i'm a bond fan) and The Avengers (cos i just like that type os shit!)
1. Django Unchained (Overall a great film) 2. The Hobbit (Tolkien Fan, plus I really enjoyed it) 3. Skyfall (Best Bond film, in my opinion) 4. The Dark Knight Rises (Perfect end to a great trilogy) 5. The Avengers (Joss Whedon's script) Runner Up Prometheus (some faults, but Ridley's direction was top notch)
The Intouchables It was just pure awesomeness, so touching movie. Also it makes me cry
Avengers hands down
The Hobbit and Dredd. I think it has been a pretty bad movie year but the Hobbit delivered and Dredd exceeded my expectations by far.
I have only seen Skyfall and The Dark Knight Rises so far I pick Skyfall as my favorite of those two
1)Dredd 2)Django Unchained 3)The Dark Knight Rises 4)Cloud Atlas 5)The Hobbit
1 - The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Cabin in the Woods 3 - The Hobbit 4 - Prometheus Can't remember every movie I went to last year, but I really want to see Django Unchained, I'm sure it would be near the top of that short list somewhere.
1. The Master 2. Django Unchained 3. Beyond The Black Rainbow 4. The Dark Knight Rises 5. The Comedy
1. The Hobbit 2. The Avengers 3. The Amazing Spider-man 4. The Dark Knight Rises 5. Prometheus
django unchained because it was the sole movie I was excited for that that turned out actually good
Cloud Atlas, just because it was something different and I felt that it was a movie a lot of people can relate to. Also the message of the film isn't set and you can pretty much think of your own way to interpret the story.
I had a fucking blast watching Seven Psychopaths and Django Unchained. Looper was fucking crazy. Skyfall was an awesome surprise, really amazing for a bond film. And Dark Knight Rises was great of course. Those five were the best for sure imo but fucked if I can rank them. 2012 was just fucking great.
Wreck it Ralph. I saw it on the evening of the 21st, And I said to myself afterwards going home that if the world were to go to shit that night, I really wouldn't mind WiR being the last movie I saw. it was that good to me.
Wreck-It Ralph. I loved the plot and characters.
Avengers is my overall #1 movie. Everything was perfect.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 No, not really. I only saw Avengers, TDKR, Skyfall and Hobbit. I think I'll go with Hobbit. All of them well-made movies. The Hobbit kept me interested the whole way through and even made me want more after the end. The others did that, too, but they had slightly more scenes I wasn't perfectly satisfied with. Skyfall comes close second.
Moonrise Kingdom, most def. So cute and nice. It had me smile throughout it's entire length. Skyfall was really really great too. Like, one of my top five Bond-flicks. And Seven Psychopaths was terrific as well. Those are probably my top three this year. Looper was good, but 7-8 out of 10 good. Couldn't care less for TDKR. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] Oh, by the way, Django isn't out here in Norway until like the 18th of January, so.
well django's not out here and i haven't seen 7 psychos yet but my favourites were 1. batman 2. django 3. dredd 4. looper 5. killer joe 5. moonrise kingdom 6. cabin in the woods
Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers probably the best time I had with, went with family and friends both on iMax and was overall super enjoyable. Amazing conclusion to a great trilogy and Avengers delivered the hype pretty well from each film. Hyped with Looper since announcement especially Bruce Willis+Joseph Gordon-Levitt combo and got exactly what I wanted, awesome action film. Seven Psychopaths was one of the funniest films I've seen in recent years, walked out of the cinema with a huge smile and one of the best roles Christopher Walken had for a while. Skyfall was awesome, probably the best Bond film too aside from being closer to the novels' Bond, Daniel Craig becoming the 2nd best Bond for me next to Sean Connery. Being a big Tolkien fan since childhood, The Hobbit was one big fun adventure, especially since the dwarves were my favorites on the lore. Funny, thrilling and satisfied my fanboy hunger for more Middle-earth. Despite changing quite a lot of stuff from the book, it's a nice adaptation if treated more as a prequel to LOTR (especially since LOTR came off as something different too from the actual books) rather than a direct book adaptation. Hyped out for the next installments and extended edition this year. Wreck-it Ralph surprised me too, I already was planning to see it just because of the video game cameos + my little sister wanting to see it, but even without the cameos, it turned out to be one of the best animated films as well. Especially given the present Pixar losing their touch like with Cars 2, really gave me another sweet animated film to fill the gap. Django Unchained doesn't come out here till April 2013 but I'm really excited to see it, especially now that it's getting overwhelmingly positive reception. Missed out on Prometheus & Dredd but planning on getting them on Blu-ray, and sorta glad on missing out Prometheus as well after hearing that the theatrical cut had a large chunk of the original cut missing.
am i the only one that thought the avengers was an incredibly forgettable experience?? [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] like i probably havent thought about it a single time since i left the theatre
It's probably the best superhero-flick I've seen, but with that said, superhero-flicks aren't the kind of films that stick with you. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] It was as good as forgettable popcorn blockbusters get.
nolan's batman films stay with me. like forever. those are the kinds of movies i will never forget. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] the avengers on the other hand is instantly forgettable
There's no comparison that Nolan's Batman trilogy is better, everything about it was perfect and did Batman justice, and the stakes also felt higher especially on Rises which made it even more intense. But I liked the Avengers because it was just really fun, like one of those series where each installment step by step for it gave it the hype and mood. Seeing Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor together in one movie after watching their individual origin stories over the years and together kicking ass really made it enjoyable. I guess it's true it really isn't anything memorable, especially since the scenes that stood out for me the most as well for it was the [sp]climax invasion of the city, Hulk smashing Loki and Iron Man into space[/sp]. But overall it was actually a good superhero movie that didn't reach any melodramatic or boring moments like a lot suffer. Just comic book superheroes vs bad guys with tons of minions with lots of fighting in the last quarter fun. More or less, Avengers is the movie I really want to watch again with a bunch of friends for a fun movie night, and Batman is where I wanna experience something really great to indulge on again. Speaking of Batman, hope Man of Steel turns out good and Nolan can rub off some quality on Snyder's directing.
Avengers, Bernie, Batman, End of Watch, Skyfall, Brave Disappointing ones are Spider-Man, Prometheus
[QUOTE=Rusty100;39090903]am i the only one that thought the avengers was an incredibly forgettable experience?? [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] like i probably havent thought about it a single time since i left the theatre[/QUOTE] I completely agree, I'd go as far as to say it's a load of old wank
All the comic book movies this year were amazing. To me, they're all good in their own right since each one has a different "theme" as you could say.
hobbit and dreed [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXZF1zI1QvY[/media] fucking awesome, take a minute of your life and listen the one thing fighting for order in the chaos
TDKR, The Avengers, and The Hobbit. Then again, I think they're the only movies I saw in theaters this year... Well, there was Prometheus, which was good, but definitely not a top 5 kinda movie.
Moonrise kingdom
