The studio blamed software flaws and incompetent technical staffers who weren’t paying attention, even as hackers targeted executives to trick them into revealing their online credentials. The emails also show that Sony Pictures’ chief executive was regularly reminded in unsecure emails of his own secret passwords for his and his family’s mail, banking, travel and shopping accounts. But they expose lax security practices inside Sony that include pasting passwords into emails, using easy-to-guess passwords and failing to encrypt especially sensitive materials. That includes confidential salary and revenue figures, strategic plans and medical information about some employees.
Source
Lax security at Sony? You don't say.
I wish we could have Megathreads. Honestly 3 2-page threads about the same hacking sprint but different results is just a little ridiculous. Although I'll say the same for every little bit info that comes out from this, we have 5 news articles that come out of it, and it's just silly. [editline]17th December 2014[/editline] But seriously, Sony needs to get their shit together after this. Its like you only need one low-level computer in order to hack an entire country's worth of em.
Lax security at Sony? Anything you give to Sony is basically public domain :v:
Password: 123 Good enough, Sony :D
