I envy his ability to produce clay. I could have had a much happier childhood if I could have that much clay
Maybe some day he'll invent a ladder.
Either way, impressive as always, though I don't really see the "large" improvement over the flat tiles - I suppose they have fewer gaps, but they also look a bit more unstable. Not that that's the point, but yeah.
I could watch these videos for hours...
what's really amazing is how he still manages to be so pale
I've been working with this kind of stuff for months now, and I still think working with clay is a pain in the ass. Also got a long distance to a water source. This guy is the greatest inspiration of them all, and it has also helped me excercise.

sounds like you didn't have very much lebensraum as a kid

He's in the forest, little sun gets there.
This guy makes it look so easy, every time. I really want to take on something like a small clay shed like his first one as a hobby project, but alas I live in a concrete jungle. Nearest desolate forest is like an hour away, and that includes a train ride.
how aren't all his clay things cracked to fuck
it wasn't this easy when i tried to make clay and heat it, it would always crack ;_;

he's had things crack before, maybe he doesn't show it
One of these days he's going to build a place that's nicer than mine.

a) he kneads the clay a fuckload first
b) he tends to skip hours and days of slow drying on the video.
c) the clay in the location he's in is probably pretty decent in the first place.

You can see he grinds up old fired clay to mix into it, which helps stop it from cracking.
Next he makes an aqueduct to flow water from a river to his hut
I want to see him produce enough iron to move into backsmithing.
can he do this by simply farming the iron bacteria?

He should just progressively unlock new technology and slowly catch up to modern age.

in theory, yes -- after about 10-15 loads of iron bacteria, he would have enough elemental iron to reforge into a small woodcutting axe. it's most likely one of his next steps. the iron quality would be dubious, but it's a massive step up from using hardened wood tools & sharpened stone.

He has said in a previous video that he might just buy a little iron ingot and smelt that down with some claimed from iron bacteria, just to speed up the process and make it more practical but at the time he said that, he mentioned he'd got other things to show, we've had like 3 videos since then.

he just needs one advancement more before then.....

He noticed how fucked-up humanity has turned out to be so he single-handedly tries to restart it from the very beginning.
He should just progressively unlock new technology and slowly catch up to modern age.
but what if he surpasses us
He should just progressively unlock new technology and slowly catch up to modern age.
I just imagine him driving a bulldozer he built, silently, while still wearing just shorts and no shoes or shirt
but what if he surpasses us
When he moves up to nanotechnology and advanced AI using stone tools and clay I'll be legitimately concerned

Or

I wish I could do something like this but all the state forests forbid trespassing(obviously) and almost no rural/suburban developed area has much in the way of woodland like the PT guy has.

He was casually talking to a buddy one day like
"Holy shit man canned food sucks doesn't it"
"If you want it done right, do it yourself"
"Yeah but phones break all the time too, and cars, and everything... Absolutely nothing is done right!"
"Okay then" *reinvents civilization*
If civilization ever falls, this guy will be the one picking up the pieces and bring us back to our former glory.

any pottery that cracks during firing he keeps to use in the future as "grog". It's basically when you grind and smash up pottery and mix it in with fresh clay. It helps the new batch of clay stay in one piece and makes the likelihood of cracking much lower.
Also to everyone saying he makes it look so easy, these projects of his take months or more. It's probably not as easy as it looks behind the scenes, but he just puts the most interesting clips in for us all to watch.
I want to see him attempt at making actual bricks and then building something with them, or perhaps seeing him making better and more precise tools.
I want him to make a tree platform of some sorts.
