It really saddens me that Dredd was almost practically a box-office bomb. It's such a great film, deserving of a sequel.

It actually was quite successful on DVDs and Blueray's. so much that there's been talks about a Dredd2

I really hope there is. Dredd was simple, but it had everything it needed to. Gore, ultraviolence, distopias, and really, really pissed off ultra-cops, while still managing to have a decent story to tell.
Karl Urban also fucking rocks as Judge Dredd, like holy fuck he's made for it.
It's better than Judge Dredd (the movie with stallone) could have ever been.
Dammit, is there anything wrong with Adam Savage? Everything about him is so fucking based, although I'm really gonna be surprised if he's suddenly scientologist or SJW or worse.
Sadly it wont get one.

Time and time again we've seen things like Kickstarter revive a franchise. The most recent example isn't a movie but Shenmue 3, which was practically fucking dead for the past few years. We've seen the demand for this as theyve raised $6,333,296.
Now indeed this number isn't nearly as close to the 45 million it took to create Dredd, but then again it is a game and not a movie, and I doubt there's as much demand.
John Wick had a $20 million budget and brought in over $70 million in the box office.
If the demand for a Dredd sequel is substantial which can be determined via kickstarter there's a chance a big name company like Lionsgate or another big company can agree to publish it.
This is being incredibly optimistic here but there's still that chance.

Dredd owned because it was just a day in the life of Judge Dredd, not anything overarching or anything like that
Man i gotta watch Dredd again now, reminds me how awesome it was and i haven't watched it in a while.

note that this man had next to nothing to do with dredd's actual production and is only credited because his company helped fund the movie

I mean, it doesn't invalidate his point.

Shenmue 3 hasn't been revived by a bloody Kickstarter, the game would have happened even if the kickstarter tanked.
