In a televised interview, Mr Hollande acknowledged he had made mistakes since taking office in 2012 but vowed to go "to the end" to reform the economy. The BBC's Lucy Williamson in Paris says the interview is widely seen as an attempt by Mr Hollande to revive his flagging popularity. Earlier on Thursday, a new poll put the president's approval rating at 12%. Unemployment in France is currently at 11% and economic growth has all but ground to a halt. ... Referring to his failed promise to "invert the trend" of unemployment, he said: "Do you think I can say to the French people, 'I didn't manage it for five years, but I promise I'll do it in the next five?' It doesn't work like that. "If I don't manage it before the end of my term, do you think I will go before the French people in 2017? The French people would be unyielding and they would be right." However, Mr Hollande vowed to go "to the end to reform France... to make it stronger in the two and a half years I have left". He also promised that from next year there would be no additional tax "on anyone".
Hard to reform stale bread back to fresh bread when it is full of immigrants :v:
Hard to reform stale bread back to fresh bread when it is full of immigrants :v:
Totally not a gimmick!
Well... He's not really a good president anyway.
At least he's admitting he fucked up. I'm not a fan of him anyway, in particular his ridiculous tax for millionaires rubbed me the wrong way.
Totally not a gimmick!
You realize he probably made that account because saying anything against immigration on these forums will immediately respond in a bunch of meely mouthers browbashing you for expressing that sentiment omg xenophobic!! Also i just checked his post history, hes not a gimmick. 6 different posts on completely different topics. [editline]7th November 2014[/editline] but it is refreshing to see a politician go "yeah i fucked up, and if i keep fucking up the people would be right to not vote me back into power"
Ok strangely defensive guy with same flagdog and browser
yeah because theres only two australian guys on facepunch using google chrome :^) get an admin to check my ip if you like
So he's becoming one of them?
This is appropriate. I don't think it would be wise for him to run for president again. He's not popular enough to come on top against Sarkozy and Lepen.
