The Game (copied from Wikipedia):
Basketball is a team sport, the objective being to shoot a ball through a horizontally positioned basket to score points, while following a set of rules. Usually, two teams of five players play on a marked rectangular court with a basket at each width end. Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports.
A regulation basketball hoop consists of a rim 18 inches (46 cm) in diameter and 10 feet (3.0 m) high mounted to a backboard. A team can score a field goal by shooting the ball through the basket during regular play. A field goal scores two points for the shooting team if a player is touching or closer to the basket than the three-point line, and three points (known commonly as a 3 pointer or three) if the player is behind the three-point line. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins, but additional time (overtime) may be issued when the game ends with a draw. The ball can be advanced on the court by bouncing it while walking or running (dribbling) or throwing (passing) it to a team mate. It is a violation to move without dribbling the ball (travelling), to carry it, or to hold the ball with both hands then resume dribbling (double dribble).
Numerous violations are called "fouls." Disruptive physical contact (a personal foul) is penalized, and a free throw is usually awarded to an offensive player if he is fouled while shooting the ball. A technical foul may also be issued when certain infractions occur, most commonly for unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of a player or coach. A technical foul gives the opposing team a free throw, and the opposing team also retains possession of the ball.
Basketball has evolved many commonly used techniques of shooting, passing, dribbling, and rebounding, as well as specialized player positions and offensive and defensive structures (player positioning) and techniques. Typically, the tallest members of a team will play "center", "power forward" or "small forward" positions, while shorter players or those who possess the best ball handling skills and speed play "point guard" or "shooting guard".

Damn I'll be rooting for Irving all the way
But the Celtics might be close to a major financial lost after the investment in getting Hayward and now this

no they won't lol they'll just apply for a Disabled Player Exception and they'll get a really good chunk of that money back to find a new player
What is going on?? All the injured player (Rose, Lin, Hayward) OKC got beat by Wiggins and his buzzer beater shot. GSW losing?? (I don't really care, it's a good thing they lost lol)
Oh shit what's up dudes, had no clue a new thread was started. Still too early in the season for hot takes, but I think the Celtics really would've had a great shot at beating the Cavs this year if Hayward didn't get hurt. Obviously, the Cavs would have IT back at some point, but even if he's healthy, I don't think he can make up for the Cavs shitty depth and regression of guys like Tristan and J.R Smith. The Cavs have zero young guys that they're actively trying to develop while Hayward's injury helps the development of Tatum whose already looking NBA ready and Brown who already got a lot of run his rookie year.
I think the cavs should start Jeff Green after that amazing performance against the rockets a couple days ago. I saw him making really good shots in previous games but he really shined through and I think he's good enough to start. We already had like 5 different starting lineups this season so far so there's no harm in testing him for it.

Celtics are going to manhandle the Cavs if they play as well as they have during this recent stretch.
Still wish the Dubs didn't choke in the game against the Celtics, but they made up for it with their comeback against the 76ers. It shouldn't be possible for a team to come back after letting their opponent's drop 47 on them in the first quarter and somehow score 47 of their own in the third to come back and retake the lead. If I wasn't a Warriors fan, I'd definitely hop on the 76ers bandwagon just because of Simmons and Embiid. Simmons has such an aesthetically pleasing game to watch even though he's just a rookie. The NBA has spoiled us with a ton of talented scoring guards so its nice to see a guard on the rise that's more of a playmaker for a change.
By the way for those who don't have a TV or don't have the channel, you can stream the games for free on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nbastreams/
What's with all the horrible injuries this season??? Now Isaiah Caanan too :(

The thought of Lebron joining the Rockets in the West scares me. I think a trio of CP3, Harden, and Lebron would be more than enough to challenge the Warriors in a 7 game series. I probably have some recency bias since the Warriors have had a stretch of bad defense and bench play, but the Rockets have already beat them twice, and one win was without CP3 for 75% of the game.
While I still think the cavs have the best bunch of players in the east, I don't even think they'll make it that far in the playoffs the way things are going right now. As a cavs fan I hate to say it but I think Boston will beat us this year, and it'll either be celtics vs. GS or Houston in the finals.
and in that case there's no way lebron is staying in Cleveland after this season.

Boston's roster look better by miles. LBJ won't be able to take down Boston on his own this year, the team is too solid and he has no help at all. Cleveland even making it to Boston looks like a big if this year.
Giannis made Hardaway look like a fucking child.

Lots of trades today! Have to feel for Isaiah Thomas a little, dude went from playing on two contending teams to being traded to the Lakers where he'll likely be bought out or finish the season and hit free agency. I doubt he'll completely get into a grove this season which sucks because he was due for a big payday if he didn't get hurt while playing for the Celtics.

Didn't get to watch the All-Star game and I'm glad I missed out on it so I didn't have to cringe at Fergie's performance of the anthem live

My playoffs prediction:
With Kyrie out I think the only legit threat to the cavs in the east are the 76'ers. I do have doubts about the new cavs roster making it but in the end I still think they'll come out on top and make another finals appearance.
It'll be rockets vs. warriors in the western conference finals, and with steph curry returning I think it could honestly go to a game 7 and at that point it's anybody's game
Is it October yet?

The celtics are gonna be scary next year with a healthy kyrie and gordon hayward. I mean they pushed it to a game 7 of the eastern conference finals without their 2 star players - I don't even wanna know what's in store for them next year.
also Lebron for MVP
Im so pissed about the recent injuries. CP3 is having a career defining series and goes down to some bullshit hammy strain. Warriors get so much injury luck. (Im still bitter about Kawhi going out last year)
You're still a champion in my heart, lebron
