Schoolgirl 'bullied over parents' divorce' dies on rail track after texting her brother: I'll miss you A public schoolgirl is believed to have killed herself under the wheels of a train after being tormented by bullies. Natasha MacBryde, 15, was said to have been left devastated when her parents, Andrew and Catherine, separated and friends said she had been hoping for a reconciliation. The ‘model pupil’ sent her brother, James, 17, a text message just hours before her body was discovered stating simply: ‘I’ll miss you’. The mother of a friend at her £10,000-a-year school yesterday claimed that the popular athlete, who had qualified for the county championships, had been teased by ‘snobby’ fellow pupils at Royal Grammar School Worcester over her parents’ marital breakdown. The mother, who asked not to be identified, said: ‘The split was hard on the children and other kids teased Natasha about it. ‘Lots of the children at the school are wealthy and a few of the kids can be quite snobby. Popular: Natasha was described as a 'model pupil' ‘The bullying was obviously too much for Tasha and she could only see one way out of the misery. It’s so desperately sad.’ But, while another source confirmed Natasha was thought to have been targeted by bullies in the build-up to her death, he said it was not clear who had been tormenting her or why. A card left at the train station read: ‘You were an elegant and bright girl. I didn’t think it would have to end like this. ‘For the people who made you so down and sad, they didn’t even deserve to meet you.’ Natasha and James moved to a modern townhouse in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, with their 43-year-old mother, a cardiac physiotherapist, following the couple’s break-up. Mr MacBryde, 47, a chartered surveyor who works for Barclays bank, remained at the family’s barn conversion in the nearby village of Upton Warren. Yesterday scores of friends posted messages on Facebook also alleging that Natasha was being bullied. Mr MacBryde told reporters he was ‘not surprised’ at the content of the messages, but added that he was waiting for the results of the police investigation to find out the reasons for his daughter’s death. Pupils at the school emerged at lunchtime yesterday to buy flowers to lay at a memorial set up in the school. One girl said: ‘She was very close to her mum and dad. It really hurt her when they split. Natasha always hoped they might work it out.’ Natasha was run over around a mile north of Bromsgrove station. Her body was spotted on the adjacent line by a freight train driver in the early hours of Valentine’s Day. The British Transport Police were yesterday still trying to establish when the teenager walked to the tracks and which train struck her. Her brother posted a heartbreaking message on Facebook on the morning she died desperately appealing for ‘anyone [who] heard from Tasha in the night’ to contact him straight away. But just 16 minutes later, at 7.57am, he had become aware of her death and posted: ‘RIP my beautiful sister, I will always love you.’ A third post, apparently written to his sister, said: ‘I wish you could see how much everyone cares’. Yesterday he thanked friends on the social networking site for their ‘lovingness and sheer selflessness during this time’, and added: ‘I’m getting the tattoo she wanted done today in memory of her. ‘She never realised how loved she was, but I know she’s looking down smiling on every one of us. I miss you more every second.’ In a statement issued through police, the family said they were ‘absolutely devastated’ their ‘beautiful daughter’ had been taken from them. The statement added: ‘Tasha was a gorgeous, fun-loving teenager who was full of life, so it is both shocking and inexplicable to lose her so suddenly in such circumstances.’ A spokesman for Royal Grammar School Worcester said staff were ‘not aware’ of Natasha suffering from bullying and said the school had an ‘incredibly strong anti-bullying policy’. He added that the teenager ‘did not seek any help from staff and we had absolutely no knowledge of it’. A British Transport Police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Natasha’s death. An inquest is due to be opened by the Worcestershire coroner Geraint Williams. This ruined my day.
ok, Wow...
Sounds like a 'train' of a situation.
ok, Wow...
Yea WOW
That's terrible. Who would bully someone over their parents divorcing, and especially to the point where they kill themselves? Fucking sick.
What kind of a cunt bullies someone over a parent's divorce "Hahaha a loved one is no longer a focal point of your life"
WOW this is devastating news
This Is Terrible, Fuck To The Bulllies.
I live where this happened, I didn't know her but some of my friends did and this is just so tragic.
That's disgusting.
disgusting
Why would you bully someone about that, people really are getting meaner.
Put the bullies on the same rail track.
That's just depressing :saddowns:
Put the bullies on the same rail track.
Haha yeah let's torture their families too
damn, she's pretty hot too.
What is wrong with some people? Why would you bully someone to the point where they would want to kill themselves? That's just horrible.
Haha yeah let's torture their families too
Fuck 'em.
What kind of a cunt bullies someone over a parent's divorce "Hahaha a loved one is no longer a focal point of your life"
That made me laugh, not that I find this situation, or any situation like this funny (it's fucking sad :frown:)... just the wording of that made up quote cracked me up. I hope the fucking cunts that bullied her carry the burden of her death around with them for the rest of their life.
Sounds like a 'train' of a situation.
...Like...What the fuck? This doesn't even relate to an actual phrase. Who the fuck says "what a train of a situation"? At least say "the divorce disrupted her train of thought" or something. Jesus fuck do you understand the concept of a pun?
Sounds like her life got derailed.
Now that is a pun. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline]
What is wrong with some people? Why would you bully someone to the point where they would want to kill themselves? That's just horrible.
Happens alllll the time... Also who teases someone because their parents got divorced? Honestly? I;m not even confused as to how insensitive it is but like, how is that even remotely...what? Like I could see people bullying someone because they were gay or because they were emo or something but like, I don't understand...
damn, she's pretty hot too.
Are you implying that if she wasn't then her death would have no merit? You're fucking sick.
:( [editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
Are you implying that if she wasn't then her death would have no merit? You're fucking sick.
Way to jump to conclusions.
Sounds like her life got derailed.
I think we should shoot these bullies and probably cut their arms or something off. I'm just glad it wasn't a cat on those train tracks or there would be hell to pay.
I think we should shoot these bullies and probably cut their arms or something off.
Really? Wouldn't it be enough for them to just understand how their bullying indirectly killed someone? I'm sure if they knew the girl was going to hop in front of a train they wouldn't have made fun of her. People bully eachother all the time but that doesn't make them monsters, they just don't realize the effect it has on people until it's too late.
why would you bully her when she's that hot
Really? Wouldn't it be enough for them to just understand how their bullying indirectly killed someone? And for the bullies where it isn't enough, I say we put them in a bullfighting arena.
Sounds like a 'train' of a situation.
This post is offensive simply because it's extremely inconsiderate to subject your fellow forum members to such an awful attempt at a pun.
Wow guys, seriously? You've never been in middle school? People pick on people for the stupidest shit. This is a tragedy but I can guarantee that the bullies alone weren't the cause for it.
