You get Jago for free and then you pay for the rest like you would pay for any other fighting game. It's more generous than it seems like, considering they're probably losing a lot of money by doing this.

I don't have an Xbox One. What I said was based on how the original "free" dealy was the game and a single character, you'd have to pay to unlock the ability to use other characters. I thought this was known. EDIT: woulda been posted the exact time as the post above, which is correct(except for the pulling out of an ass part).

Killer Instinct's system is a lot more reasonable when you replace the phrase "free to play" with "demo". It also has this weird character rotation system so every week? it changes the one character you have available to you to another one for you to try out. If you like playing as that character, you buy that character. I despise free-to-play but when you think about it it's not really that bad. There's nothing stopping you from just buying it the old fashioned way anyway.

Has anyone else played Killer Instinct? It is a shitty fighting game. That's like the worst sin. It's just not fun. I played a few rounds at like an Xbox demonstration show thing at a comiccon and I woulda much preffered SFIV or something

I mean, sure, maybe it's not as good as SFIV (although they're vastly different so it kinda depends on taste) but it's still better than UMvC3, and everyone and their mothers loved that. Ugh. No. The "free" version of the game is essentially an infinite demo. You can just buy the whole game with all the characters for like 40 dollars.
