Ukrainian journalist: we should murder Russian journalists.
Recalling a recent meeting at Harvard University on his Facebook page, Romanenko noted that he recommended to his colleagues that Ukrainian army snipers suppress Russian coverage of the war in Donbass by deliberately targeting Russian journalists operating in the region.
The political analyst noted that as the conversation turned to the powerful role played by information warfare in the present conflict, speakers began lamenting about how Ukraine has been falling out of the American media space recently. It was then that Romanenko decided to "inject some new life into the debate."
"I know how to resolve the problem of waning attention and to bring media attention to a new level. The Ukrainian army must selectively and carefully eliminate Russian journalists covering the situation in Donbass. We need to direct Ukrainian army snipers to shoot people wearing PRESS helmets, making them priority targets," Romanenko wrote, recalling his comments before the Harvard audience.
Welp.

If you doubt the source you can read it where he posted it. It says what the news article claims.
And uh... who the hell is this guy?
Finally something the Ukrainians and Russians can agree on.
I think he's either sarcastic, or making a boldfaced sort of claim to the extent of "If we really want to help the Irish we should eat their babies."
Because, even in context, it's extreme. But it makes sense. You want to stir up media attention for the conflict in Ukraine? Shoot at the media.

He's serious. Or forgot to tell everyone it was a joke.
In his post he says that after he said it an American journalist asked him:
- But you are going to violate international law?!
He replied with "But the Russians are evil!" stretched into three paragraphs.
Seems dead serious to me.

So what? There are hundreds of hateful posts on facebook written by brainwashed (or just dumb) people from both sides, why would you care about this exact one? Just because he's a journalist?
Clearly what he wants is some sort of journalist fight club.

He is a big figure in Ukrainian journalism scene afaik.
And it's not about facebook. He said it IRL in Harvard.

Saying things like this in Harvard is just dumb, and ukrainian journalism scene is a joke and biased just like russian one. He may speak whatever he wants, but don't overestimate his person. I bet he's just trying to get some attention and popularity among ukranian far-right groups.
lol muffinzerg relax, its just some dumb journalist saying dumb things, I might aswell post news what your insane journalists and politicians claim.

i guess problem is whenever Russian nutjob makes a claim everyone jumps in the air and takes every word for granted and serious, but when Ukranian idiots spew same amount of garbage, they always get nice treat.
Same goes to general aproach toward incidents like where ukranian goverment is detaining journalists for their political views or student protest infront of USA embassy

The point is, Ukraine is given privelegy to decide what is right and what is wrong and everybody at western media seems to be ok about it while russian media is getting exclusively nitpicked and critisized.

I dont recall our journalists saying such stuff to the international community.
I wont jump onto the "they are just as bad as we are" train. No, they are worse. Or maybe they are just allowed to spew calls to extremism in Harvard. Poroshenko did same in another univercity earlier.
But thats not the point. I posted this because I knew no one would report it on FP because CNN/BBC wont report it.
If you want to cherrypick some crazy Russian journalist sayings I have got nothing against that.
Purisdavid already does that thing though, So you have some competition.

"Yet I have no proof because I'm not willing to look up and back what I say, especially when I don't like this person."
http://facepunch.com/search.php?searchid=6107318 - Here's my history of posted threads. Go for it.
Also you want to talk about me cherry picking things, which is hilarious, because you've done the exact thing you say I do.

Whats annoying is there are times where there is common ground between us in debates, but even then you destroy that by acting out like a victim, knock that shit off too.
Edit:
Also, when it comes to sources, I'll wait for something more credible than sputnik news even though I know his facebook post was provided in this thread. But here's other sources (copy pasting sputnik)

What? What is there to ask for? Sputnik is literal shit, but it's not like it's some big news that requires verification, it's just some stupid motherfucker saying stupid shit on Facebook. Arguably no material for SH, but that's all there is.

The point being that's all I can find, not even anything else relating to it in media anywhere. Even with some the smallest stories about Ukraine there's 5-10 articles about it from varying media.

But there's no story at all, not even the smallest one. Some dude said something on Facebook, that's it. It can be directly accessed via the link presented in the article. The thing's legit, question is - why is this even worth discussing.

Again, I get that, all I said and meant was I thought there would be more than Sputnik 1, 2 and 3 as sources for something like this. And I know the link to the facebook post was provided.
So what? Some random guy said some stupid shit. People say stupid shit all the time, it doesn't really matter if they aren't in a position of power to do what they say.

He said it IRL in Harvard. Not only on facebook. Or I wouldnt give a damn.

Uh, okay. I thought sources were a problem. Well, doesn't surprise me that two other sites took shit directly from Sputnik.
He said it IRL in Harvard. Not only on facebook. Or I wouldnt give a damn.
Or rather, the dude claims to have said something like that in Harvard. I too can make shit up.
