Speaker John Bercow cut off David Cameron at Prime Minister's Questions, telling him he had said enough.
Mr Cameron was in the middle of mocking Ed Miliband's new US elections adviser after heated exchanges with the Labour leader over Royal Mail privatisation.
Mr Bercow called rowdy MPs to order, prompting the PM to shout: "I haven't finished yet!"
A grinning Speaker replied, after a pause: "In response to that question, the prime minister has finished."
How un-Christian of him.
Nice to know that in such an auspicious setting as the house of commons, 5 year old behaviour is allowed. God forbid politicians take their job seriously and act professionaly.
i have no idea whats going on here
They sound like teenagers during a fight.
Ruthless

It's always been like this. IDK I like it, makes it funny and sometimes they do wicked sick zingers.
Stuff like this is why I love PMQs, what other country has such a vibrant parliament?

This is how it feels to be british

I find it atrocious that they're all a bunch of... hooligans shouting like it's the world cup. Just the other week the speaker said in a rare interview that female MPs have actually stopped showing up because of how the men act.
I love the chaotic nature of the British parliament.

If they want to laugh and joke, retire from politics and become a fucking comedian. Otherwise, you're in charge of a fucking country, act appropriately.

Question time is not representative of all the business of parliament, and, at least in the Australian parliament, all other business that the parliament does is much more calm. I think that there used to be a point to question time, but nowadays its only purpose is so that each party can attempt to make the other parties look bad on TV.

I don't see why it makes a difference to how they run the country if this is how they act once a week. Who cares if they make it a bit different, the same thing is achieved if they just sit there and discuss it taking it in turns (which they do in pmq anyway).

Question time in our parliament (Australia) is always a great laugh. I try my best to never miss it because it's actually one of the best programs on free TV.
despite how much we all hate politicians and hate seeing them as human beings, they are actually allowed to have fun

Question time is not a step in the creation or the passage of legislation. It's merely a show for the public.

It's always great when one of the pollies fucks up bad enough that the speaker just goes "Right, go stand out in the hall."

i can assure you our country isn't going down the shitter

It's so entertaining though. If it wasn't taken outside Parliament in the way of fraudulent expenses claims and the like there'd be no issue.

If ever there was a time and place for cheering and jeering it's not in PMQs. Like I said in my previous post, the speaker shunned PMQs for that reason.
He said it was worrying that members from both sides of the House "with a lot to contribute" were put off attending the weekly session.
The "histrionics and cacophony of noise are so damaging as to cause them to look elsewhere", he added.
In the interview, he said: "I'm sorry if some of those people are lost to the chamber because they think, 'I won't take part in that atmosphere.'
"I think it is a big deal. I think it is a real problem. A number of seasoned parliamentarians, who are not shrinking violets, not delicate creatures at all, are saying, 'This is so bad that I am not going to take part, I am not going to come along, I feel embarrassed by it,'" he told us.
It makes a difference not just because they're conducting a shouting match, but because people with valid points to make simply don't want to show up.

I take this back. Watching more videos from the House of Commons, our question time is actually polite and well-behaved in comparison.
Someone should make a montage parody of all the zingers that have been thrown out in the british parliament.
I think what's most annoying/concerning is David Cameron's confidence.
You could have an incredibly wise philosopher who has a clear lens, a strong sense of reality and actually knows about real issues. Yet, he might still get 'destroyed' in a debate with DC, simply because DC can shout louder and believes his drivel to be more correct.

Canada's parliament isn't far off, but the attitude is certainly meaner. I personally find the way our parliament acts completely disgraceful. You can even see them boo down people who are trying to talk, it's just fucking retarded.
it's just a fucking old boys club, it's a joke to them, they're the ones scrubbing expenses and payment from the British public
i have no idea whats going on here
The speaker, who's job is to keep the house of commons debates and questions running smoothly asked the prime minister to shut up and sit down, basically.

Zhirinovsky does all that and more all by himself in here.
House of Commons seems to turn people into school children. Does congress and the senate have the same effect?

No, they act like children outside of it.
