How can I eat pineapple without the itchy feeling?

Pineapple is a great fruit but when I eat it, my tongue and lips feel like they've been set on fire and I had to use Vaseline on my lip to stop the burning, is there a way to eat it without the burning and itching?
Do you cut out all of the core?
Is the pineapple ripe?
Here's some help:

I cut out all the steam but it wasn't fully ripe.
65% of the skin was green and the rest was yellow but it was still good but it fucking hurts to eat
lol fix ur lips bro
soak or rinse the pineapple in water
btw the core is the best part imo, i could munch on those for days
OP, what you have is a condition called Geographic Tongue. I have the same thing. It's a bitch, but there's really no way around the reaction that's caused.
Mainly, it's the combination of sugars and acids in the pineapple. Pineapple is a funny fruit for Geographic Tongue, because it has a LOT of sugar AND acid in it, which is what mainly sets it off.
