This morning, thousands of fans of Mark Edward Fischbach, aka Markiplier, found themselves treated to a video that wasn’t of his usual style. That’s because unfortunately, it looks like he has been hacked by a growing force called OurMine Team.
This video showed up on his channel this morning, and it looks like OurMine Team has taken control of his channel. It seems that Markiplier was targeted due to them hitting a 100 thousand milestone on twitter, but why Markiplier was targeted in particular is still unknown at this time.
OurMine Team is becoming more infamous within the YouTube space as of late, with claiming of hacking such personalities as Yamimash, tmartin, and AviatorGaming.
This time around however, they’ve targeted one of the most famous and biggest Youtubers out there, as Markiplier has over 11 million subscribers, and an ever growing fan base due to his passion for helping people and his off the wall videos. OurMine Team has indicated to Markiplier that if he wants his channel back, they will have to directly message him on twitter.

...Update:
Sensitive information regarding Markiplier has now been released

People are just terrible.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was because of some leak that happened a while back. Some script kiddie got into his tumblr IIRC because of an Xsplit leak.
I'm sure YouTube is going to step in pretty quickly because he's such a huge presence on the site.
still no two factor auth?
Come on, that's lame. I don't like Markiplier's videos but leave him alone.

Yup. Happened to a few other streamers I follow, except one of them ended up having his Youtube account taken instead. Took way too long before it was fixed.
What would you gain by 'hacking' a youtube profile? It's not like youtube can't restore/give the account back in hours.
Edit: Okay maybe not hours, I've no data for this.
why mark
I can name like 3 people who deserved to be hacked more than mark
Why doesn't he use the google 2 factor auth? That would have prevented it if they just got his email and password somewhere.
Why does every hacking group present themselves with the image of a bunch of angsty teenagers?
I'm not a fan of this guy, but whenever I've seen something written about him it's because he's done something for charity or something generally nice.
So I don't understand why someone would hack him, unless there is something I am missing here and he drinks baby's blood whilst howling at the moon or something or did they just do this because they could or what?
"Our mine"? Are they a minecraft gang of some sort?

They're assholes that extort money out of people. Probably just that.
Why does every hacking group present themselves with the image of a bunch of angsty teenagers?
Cause they are?
"Our mine"? Are they a minecraft gang of some sort?
Mark messed with the wrong gang of Creepers.

it's just attention whoring
the routine usually goes like this
"hi this account is mine it has always been mine dont know who [ACCOUNT OWNER'S NAME HERE] but this is mine okay"
"lol ur crying and being sad lol ill go delete more videos because im an epic troll hacker i am bathing in your tears :) :) :) :^)"
"lol lol if you want to hurt me go [DO SOMETHING BAD] to [UNRELATED PERSON OR WEBSITE HERE]"
then they just cry on twitter once youtube reverts everything and gets them their account back
The title is misleading. I thought this would be about him hacking, not him getting hacked.
why mark

if they could just "hack" whoever they wanted then they would obviously be hacking everybody and causing chaos. clearly there was a security flaw with markiplier's account. that and his popularity are the only reasons.

...It's.. It's pretty self explainatory, dear.

I'd imagine they targeted pewdiepie first but he had better security and thus they settled for the pewdiepie wannabe
markiplier nor pewdiepie deserve to be hacked at all in any amount
i don't see anything they've done wrong
like they've done absolutely nothing wrong at all, they don't deserve anything to happen to them

English is weird in that placing a verb in the past tense after a noun makes it imply that the verb applies to the subject itself i.e. "Lincoln shot"
Shame it happened to Mark though. He literally doesn't harm anyone playing games, even if his acting is cringey and hard to watch.
jfc they released his monthly earnings (I think it's legit??) and the sheer amount of money the guy makes made me dizzy
Missed opportunity to go after keemstar tbh.
markiplier@gmail.com checks out both MGPH and Xsplit.
[B]AKA someone knows how to copy paste from TXT file.

or sam pepper
Yeah, out of all of the people in YouTube, Markiplier is the least reasonable target to hack. Even though I don't follow his stuff, he seems like a nice guy.
same thing happend to joel. itll just be a few days and anything deleted will be restored ect. Just a waste of time really.
I like Markiplier and it's not like I care how much other peopl get paid but man... this is crazy

They are either associated with him somehow or just like him because they retweet a lot of his tweets.
half a mil in a month, FUCK
when i hear pewdiepie makes 5mil a year for example, i think eh. then i hear its about 450k a month and i go holy fuck
kinda blows my mind to think that sort of money can be made making Let's Play videos. you can spend your entire life working a 9-5 job and never come close to that sort of money.
gotta say though, Markiplier has the same shit dynamic as Pewdiepie, just sorta screams into the camera and acts like a turd. SeaNanners is a LPer I actually enjoy watching, cause he doesn't act like an idiot to get views.
