Parliament considers all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate
Aww yiss
Yea but why?
According to the petition:
The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK.
I doubt anything will come of this, but the man is a colossal twat and this is one way of expressing it to him.
Being a twat is not a valid reason for a ban, still it's nice to see people show their disdain for such a prize ass like Trump.
It's literally going up with 10-20 people per second. :v:
Being a twat is not a valid reason for a ban, still it's nice to see people show their disdain for such a prize ass like Trump.
Westboro Baptist Church is banned from the UK and inciting hate against Muslims seems pretty bad. Trump probably isn't as bad as the WBC but his presence probably is only going to make bigots come out of the woodwork in the UK.
Being a twat is not a valid reason for a ban, still it's nice to see people show their disdain for such a prize ass like Trump.
However according to several foreign affairs ministers, promoting hate speech IS a valid reason and the argument here is that this is what Mister Trump is doing, he is making uninformed, broad sweeping generalisations based on his very very narrow view of the world.
If Tyler, The Creator was banned for lyrics from like 4 years ago, I definitely think there's precedent for Trump to be banned
Banning people for saying offensive things is stupid.
Banning people for saying offensive things is stupid.
I agree with that statement but Trump definitely goes somewhat further than 'saying offensive things'
I agree with that statement but Trump definitely goes somewhat further than 'saying offensive things'
Thats all he's done though.
Signed!
Thats all he's done though.
The wide-scale islamaphobia he's promoting goes a goes a little further than just saying offensive things don't you think?
That thing is flying, going up by 20-40 every couple seconds It's now 173,987 signatures EDIT: In the seconds after I posted this its now 174,385 signatures
Yea but why?
because he's a threat and all threats should be banned from entering civilized countries :v:
Lol if this goes through doesn't that pretty effectively end his campaign since as a political leader being banned from another country is kinda game-ending?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-35050121 lol seems hes pissed off a lot of people. I'm all for banning him from coming here (his message is toxic as fuck and we don't need more hate/fear) but this stripping of honorary degree seems a bit irrelevant and emotional. I do wonder why he says all that nutty crap, he can't honestly believe it can he? is he that stupid?
The guy is a tycoon and owns a golf course in Scotland, you'd be mad to ban him because of the pandering left frothing at the mouth.
I don't see how this is necessary. Yeah the bloke's nutty as a fruitcake, but this is not really relevant. Has he even expressed any interest in coming here anyway? I mean, I won't shed a tear if he is banned, but why even bother?

Pre-emptively banning him from the UK would put a big dent in his campaign.
Haven't people been banned from entering the UK for less?
Lol if this goes through doesn't that pretty effectively end his campaign since as a political leader being banned from another country is kinda game-ending?
One thing's for sure, if he manages to get through this scandal unscathed, then nothing will stop him.
Haven't people been banned from entering the UK for less?
See: Tyler, The Creator
Boom! Signed!
Banning people for saying offensive things is stupid.
He's a presidential candidate. I mean, if that doesn't say some bad things to you, whatever.
Trump is fucked and should be banned if you guys are banning others for 'hate speech', but fuck putting controls on free expression.

Honestly at this point I kinda believe it. Maybe it's just because the alternative, that a human being is capable of being this fucking braindead, is terrifying.
