Alrighty, I don't know much about cameras to be totally honest, but I was reading something on 50mm lenses and I was wanting to try them out. My dad's a photographer and he's collected his share of cameras and lenses from over the years. Unfortunately, his only 50mm lens is from the days of film, and it's older than his most current camera. It doesn't seem to fit on his Nikon D100 unless I use an extension he happened to have which drastically zooms the lens to where you have to be less than a foot away from the image. The problem with the lens I am using (Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm f 3.5) is that its socket is recessed and can't properly snap into the camera, whereas the extension can.
What I want to do is get some sort of adapter that can fit the lens while still keeping the original range of the lens. I don't know what to look up or what it would be called, if it was under $30 or so that would be great. Anyone know of a good adapter or an otherwise CHEAP good quality lens to replace it that would fit?
