I had no idea about Mordin's inspiration but it made me laugh.
The Krogan "prey" eyes were explained in the first ME as being the result of growing up on an even scarier planet than the Krogan themselves, I didn't even realise that they changed it.
Wait, didn't pay attention, their eyes aren't fully on the side of their head, but it was still meant to give an impression that they were hunted on their homeworld
And here I thought Krogan were more reptile based.
Mordin = Space Clint Eastwood? Didn't know that.
You can fight like a Krogan... Run like a leopard... But you'll never be better than Commander Shepard.

Except if you're Garrus Vakarian. No one bests Garrus motherfucking Vakarian.
I played Dragon Age before Mass Effect so I went into Mass Effect hoping I could play as a sharkman.
I wish they would have talked about Mass Effect before it became Mass Effect. The commercials and magazines advertised a game where you'd have to decide who you help and who you abandon and one of the hardest choices you would have to make in the game is when you decide to turn off the xbox and go to sleep because things will still happen.
One of the commercials had them getting a distress call from Noveria where shit is all fucked up and the planet is on fire and Commander Shepard looks away in sadness because he has to abandon them but there was nothing like that in any of the games. The closest thing to that would be the order in which you visit Feros, Noveria, and the planet with Liara changing the dialogue because if you went to Feros last or second like I did my first run, they'd be angry you left them there for long whereas if you went first they'd be thankful you arrived but nothing really changed except for the first dialogue you hear. If you rescued Liara last like I did, she'd be disoriented from being trapped for such a long time.
You would also be fighting the reapers earlier on, in fact, the reapers existing wasn't a plot twist at all, the galaxy was already being invaded by them

That commercial/trailer you're talking about is what I wanted Mass Effect 3 to be like. Going back and looking at it before ME3 was released really made me think that's what BioWare was going to shoot for, since there's a lot of subtle hints in that commercial that the entire galaxy is going to shit.
Too bad that wasn't the case.
"Krogan species were designed after art director Matt Rhodes..."
Krogan always looked like frogs, toads or bullfrogs to me.
Krogan always looked like frogs, toads or bullfrogs to me.
I would have never guessed the wrinkle-faced bat. I was expecting him to say toads, personally.
Weird that the Asari were designed after the Orion race from Star Trek rather than the Twi'lek from Star Wars, considering Bioware did make star wars games.
Man, this made me want to play the games again. Can Mass Effect 4 come out already so I can be bitterly disappointed/redeem the series?

This is me with Dragon Age: Inquisition.
This is me with Dragon Age: Inquisition.
You can tell Dragon Age: Inquisition is going to be awful when you no more about the romances then the plot.

What if romance is the plot?

Hamburger Hepler isn't writing it, so it can't be all bad, right?
Why is there no dragon age thread here on facepunch?
I hope there's no huge threat in ME4, just a galaxy full of adventures.
"Let's create a planet full of hot women"
"Maybe we should create a male? You know, for lore reas-"
"Pfft, no."
If there're is so many mass effect Easter eggs, do an Easter egg hunting episode or 2 on it.

I dunno. Some people talk about it in the ME thread, but I don't think there's ever been a lot of interest.
My understanding is that Origins was so bad, the biggest fans committed seppuku and the lesser ones just chose to forget about it.

I think you mean Dragon Age II, which is true. Origins was the first one and Awakening was its expansion and they were fucking phenomenal.
Thanks for reminding me that I bought Dragon Age 2. I should uninstall it so it stops wasting space on my harddrive.
If I want to play it again though, I'll have to download all the files to unlock the on-disc DLC
I haven't really played much of either Dragon Age games, but come on, you're "understanding" is just bandwagonning for cheap jokes dude
DA2 is terrible is every way possible.
he said origins tho
Because he's a dope and probably got them confused. It's obvious he hasn't played them.
