"The Wannabes" and "High School" are being filmed in my town: How I got on the set.

I live in a town by the name of "Howell", Michigan.

As of late, Michigan has been offering huge entertainment industry incentives, offering big rebates to companies who hire Michigan workers and just generally spend money in Michigan (Really helps out the local economy).
Recently (2 years ago), our dumb as shit school board decided to build an entirely new high school with their funds, only to find out they didn't have the money to actually support it. We built this massive school, went there for a year (My 10th year), then everyone was moved back to the original High School. Nice plan.
Parker-HHS wasn't a bad school, it was very expensive, and very futuro. Lots of windows, open spaces, better classroom design and working A/C.

Wikipedia has the 3D development shots? What the fuck?
Yeah, that's the main stairwell.
Due to budget limitations the district was not able to keep Parker's doors open and was shut down in 2008 after one year of use.
Well, all was not lost, because after we were moved back (My 11th year), a movie studio rented the entire building for the filming of a movie called "High School".

So THIS YEAR; A show called "The Wannabes" is being developed there; Which is just another Disney channel show.
http://www.thewannabes.tv/
It's being developed by producers and writers of other Disney Channel series.
I'm a Senior in High School, and this year I took a class called Advanced Digital Video, in which we learn to use Final Cut, Livetype, and other video editing programs. Essentially, learning some basics to be professional video editors. Today, we took a "field trip" over to see the set and learn a bit about the jobs of everyone there. We were first seated in the Commons. It all looked slightly different, they've modified the interior a bit, but not too drastic. We listened to some staff speak about their jobs, and even the writer came up. She wrote "The Proud Family" (Old Disney Channel show) and co-executive produced The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I was at an impasse; She writes awful, generally unfunny dialogue but she helped make Fresh Prince. Well, after listening to them, we were led into the studio (The Gymnasium) and up to the second floor balcony where we could look down into the set. From the trailer, it's called "Moody's Sweet Shoppe". They were filming at the time, so we got to see a bit of the show. By a bit, I mean we spent 20 minutes watching the equivalent of a 10-second clip. The actresses kept looking up at us, me particularly. :smug:
It's kind of weird seeing parts of our school in the trailer, and even seeing the set we were actually at. I love how its coupled with pictures of schools in completely unrelated parts of the country.
Anyway, as we're leaving, the actresses were leaving through the same doors. Apparently, one of our classmates knew the blonde one, and gave her a hug. This was met by an immediate "Oooh" from everyone, and a "GET SOME" from me and a few select others. I'm applying to be an extra, not because I think the show will be amazing, mind you. It's $100 a day for standing around for a few hours. I can dig it. I had the chance to be an extra on "High School", but I was sick on the audition date. It's not going to be a good show in my opinion, by any means, but chances are that I'll watch it just to see the school and whatnot.
I feel sorry for that school.

You should see what they did to it. You'd feel worse.
Damn you Disney.

That's awesome(except for the Disney part). Wish stuff like that would happen at my school, all we get is bomb threats. Keep us updated on what happens.

We had a lockdown after a bomb threat last friday.
wow. why were a bunch of loser high school seniors flirting with the 13 year old disney channel actresses?
Go in during night and spraypaint a huge Facepunch logo somewhere.
Howell is full of retard hicks
Your High School is going to be gay now...
"The Wannabe's" looks lame as hell. Damn Disney and their bastardization of the youth!

Going to be?
buttsecks
Woot, Michigan! *high five* I live about 30 minutes from Howell in the middle of nowhere.
Anyways, it's good that Michigan is trying to bring back jobs and business to Michigan. It's a shame they had to discontinue the State Fair though.

The actresses are 16. The student who knew them is 17.

Coming from the one who couldn't be bothered to end a sentence with a period. :downs:
Reminds me of the time I could have been an extra for Zombieland.
Put in a few facepunch posters or flyers
Adds that school feel, and we feel special
You should get one of those Ghost-hunting shows to come in to your highschool. Just turn the lights on and off and have the janitor knock things over in different rooms.
The High School movie sounds like it could be promising, I was an extra in a pilot for a T.V. show recently. Easy money.

I wrote up a basic screenplay for a "Paranormal Activity" of sorts. I'm too lazy to get permissions and complete the project though. Sucks, because I have quite a few ideas that could turn out pretty decent.
Nice.
Imdb says Adrien Brody is in the film. If you get to meet him that will be awesome.

The film is already filmed and done with, unfortunately.
