That Snood Deluxe cover looks horrifying.
I wish i have the money and space to collect boxed games.
Minecraft (Xbox and PS3) and Terraria (PC) are in every GAME ever here in England, odd how they're not in the US/odd how they are here in the UK.

Over here you can buy Minecraft cards in stores: It's not a disc but you go into the store and you can buy the CD key and you plug it in and unlock the game.

When I'm older I'm going to start collecting some box copies.
In many years I'm sure that Blood Dragon (unopened) will be worth some good money.
Also why does he get so pissed when there isn't an actual manual in the box? Most games don't have full on manuals because it's a huge waste of paper and no one reads them anyway.

Because it's nice having something tangable that feels like its worth something, even if everyone doesn't appreciate it.

Old RPG manuals were the best. They were pretty much mini strategy guides, the manual for Kotor was like 70 pages long.

The manual for Arx Fatalis looks so similar to a tabletop rulebook it's not even funny.
It tells you the algorithms and dice rolls for everything IIRC.

It's a nostalgic thing. Getting a game and being so excited you would read the manual when it installed. it's a feeling of detail and something tangible. Hell, I used to read my SimCity 3000 manual all the time.
The Blood Dragon box is worth it for the soundtrack alone.

Maybe it's just nostalgia for me, but that's one thing that is almost objectively worse today in games.
Manuals are non existent/relegated to online PDFs. I remember every game I bought as a kid, I'd read that manual the whole drive home and get really informed about the game and the controls and try and understand things from reading the manual, I always found them fascinating. Shit, some of them were huge like the Kotor manual.
Now, I buy a game like Infamous Second son, and the "manual" is literally a single page folded leaflet with url's to websites. God damn I dislike that. Thanks for not cutting down so many trees but that's just a sad thing to lose.

I used to get really hyped about a game reading the manuals. "Oh shit motherfucker I can walk and run forward? I can goddamn fly? Fuck shit I'm gonna have so much fun!" It was like a ritual.
Wow, that was the actual cover art they chose for Amnesia? I thought it might have been some joke or something, but no.
God damn that's some awful design.

Holy shit, it's like one is some artsy cover and the other one is like one of those really bad photos you get of pre-teens in clubs.
Who the hell thought that was a good idea? :v:
I wish I had that boxed copy of the original Doom.
I want that blood dragon. I wish I could have my steam library (well, the good ones, at least) on a shelf...
I see that Jazz Jackrabbit 2 in the background, hope he does something on that.

You can, at least i did.
You can back up all the files of a steam game and burn them to a disk. I got myself some DVD's and DVD cases and printed some high quality DVD covers, they look really sweet now.

American cover art are generally worse than their European and Japanese counterparts.

A game I never expected to see a retail version of was Killing Floor.

*art*
I don't get the point, why have different covers for different regions?

Apeal to different people?

I think that was the only way to get the Ash playable character for the longest time before they put her up for official download
Sleeping Dogs and Sniper Elite are big games, why is he surprised that they are on disks?
Don't alot of parts in the EU have caps on internet but in America ours is pretty much unlimited everywhere which could be the case for the physical releases.
I feel compelled to get Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon just for the sake of the poster, but I don't know if the disc'd still work here in the US since I don't already own it
advertisers know that americans like tits, explosions, and face shots of characters
europeans and japanese people like atmosphere and background stuff
I don't know why would someone prefer US covers to EU/JP
They are always awful. Always. No exceptions, and the "oh so edgy/artsy" thing isn't a good comeback when you have covers with the whole fucking cast of the game.
