All you need to do is wrap tinfoil around yourself.
I have never used or seen anyone use a check except on tv.
People are still using checks? Why? I don't think I've seen a single check in my entire life.
OH OH ohohooh
I haven't ever even seen a check in my entire life. I don't think they have ever been used here, much.
I use checks all time to pay my roommate since he pays the whole rent and I pay him half back.
The only reason I had to use a check was for a security deposit (paid using a temp check since I had just opened my second account), but my parents insisted I get a checkbook anyway for the two bank accounts I've had so far. Neither of them have ever been used.
I just wrote a bunch of stupidly huge checks in my old checkbook to entertain myself once I closed the account, but I dont think that was worth the $20.
I've never written a check in my life. I honestly couldn't tell you how to write one
i got a cheque from work once when i quit
Good, few things are worse than being stuck in line at the grocery store behind an 80-year-old woman struggling to write a $2.95 check for a tube of toothpaste.
I used a cheque once and that was to put some money into a proper bank account after closing a post office one.
I'm surprised so many of you have never seen a check, there's pretty common in the US still. Granted they're probably used mostly by businesses to pay employees. You see a lot more of them in smaller towns than in cities I imagine.

I just recently bought my guitar with a check
My first thought whenever I am payed with a check is "Ugh, now I have to go to the bank..."
How old are you guys, like 10? I saw checks semi-frequently up until a few years ago, how do you go without seeing one your whole life? Didn't realize they were that uncommon in some places.
I was so glad when cheques were stopped as a method of payment at work, they were a pain in the arse to process.
I've only ever written 3 cheques in my life.
My card is so much more convenient.
I've never even seen a cheque.
They've been dead for quite a while, USA has just kept them on life support.
The US has not been keeping them on life support. You cant even find a place that accepts checks anymore.
It would be stupid to use checks now days anyway. Debit cards are more safe than them.
How am I supposed to set up direct deposit with my employer without a voided check?
Good. Another thing that should be next to go is physical money. I don't get why everyone still loves physical money
I see people struggling to find the exact change in their wallets, or carrying round pockets full of coins
Almost everywhere (except nightclubs, but even those are more welcoming to it now) accepts cards, and those places that don't probably have an ATM somewhere. And cards are much more secure if they get stolen compared to carrying notes around in your pocket.

My family stopped using them around the turn of the millenium. Checks are a pain in the fucking ass for EVERYONE involved. Walmart doesn't even accept them anymore, they just scan the blank check and electronically debit that account anyway.

direct deposit doesnt require a check. They use that check to confirm the routing number.
