Wow, if he gets chosen, my dad's going to be ecstatic. Most of our family's from Ghana.
in other news 50 people died on the other side of the world
Hate pointing out the elephant in the room but I'm sure a fair number of Catholics will object to a black pope

what about a black, gay, socialist pope.
I wonder if the vatican would be burnt down over it.
Imagine if we had a pope that's not an old white man. That would be fun
Why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles.

And the American presidency.

I've never thought of Catholic's as racist.

As far as I know, racism isn't one of Catholicism's vices.
I like how people are actually betting money on this. :v:

They should just ask God who's going to be picked

caring more about semen than the lives of people in developing countries in africa (telling them not to use condoms) seems pretty racist to me.

Don't they advocate that policy for all groups of people not just Africans?
Might put a bet on this at the bookies. We'll see.
Imagine if we had a pope that's not an old white man. That would be fun
And we get a pope that's an old black man. Not really that much of an improvement when you stop to think about it.
I don't think people would object to Ouellett because of his skin color (I would hope).
It'd be nice to have someone who might have a clue what the church's stance on condoms has done for the African continent in there, I guess.

The only reason Benedict didn't want to give them away was because he liked to put them on his arms and pretend he was a robot.
I've never thought of Catholic's as racist.
This, this, this. Large parts of central Africa are Catholic as well (e.g. Congo...) and whatever racism Catholicism may have had, it's the same casual/patronizing racism that was so prevalent in Europe in the 19th century and died out somewhere in the 20th.
Imagine if the new pope was a woman though
desmond tutu's long lost brother?
Imagine if the new pope was a pug
But
Now the pope won't look like Palpitene (no idea how to spell that)
Hate pointing out the elephant in the room but I'm sure a fair number of Catholics will object to a black pope
I don't have any problem with a black pope
Imagine if the new pope shits in the woods.
I've never thought of Catholic's as racist.
Yeah, I thought the whole "We are all equal under the eyes of God" thing was important...
Imagine if the new pope shits in the woods.
I thought that was a job requirement
Wait so this is based on some betting club's bets? how is this news
It'd be nice to have someone who might have a clue what the church's stance on condoms has done for the African continent in there, I guess.
It hasn't changed his stance on them.
