The rumors have been confirmed: Just hours before Guns N' Roses are scheduled to take the stage for their triumphant reunion gig at Coachella, AC/DC formally announced that – before GN'R's Not in This Lifetime Tour kicks off – Axl Rose will first join them as vocalist for the remaining dates of their Rock or Bust trek. "AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals," the band announced in a statement Saturday. Rose will take the place of longtime AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson, who was forced to abruptly quit touring with the group or risk "total hearing loss."
http://www.acdc.com/news?n_id=278 http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ac-dc-confirm-axl-rose-is-new-lead-singer-joining-band-on-tour-20160416 Earth has finally jumped the shark.
Total hearing loss sounds like the 7th circle of hell for a musician.
I'm amazed they're still even going
Total hearing loss sounds like the 7th circle of hell for a musician.
Or be Malcolm young and forget to play the guitar Gotta give them credit, they've been rocking until their bodies can't rock no more
As a replacement while their main guy gets some rest. Honestly, he seems like a decent replacement, got sort of the same vocal style and is a titan of rock himself. Much better than bringing in some third-rate nobody or playback or instrumental only or whatever.
I'd think his style would be perfect, I mean it's a good cross between Bon era and Brian era.

Or some other person, how the hell does Axl Rose compare to Brian Johnson because I'm not exactly seeing it but ya never know. I don't mind giving him the benefit of the doubt but I don't see much coming from this. Nothing lasts forever and I hate to say it but learn when to call it quits before it's too late. Don't run yourself into the ground.
Rose will take the place of longtime AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson, who was forced to abruptly quit touring with the group or risk "total hearing loss."
from what I've read, Brian wanted to finish out the tour but wanted to take time and make sure that he could do it first to be honest Brian Johnson doesn't seem the type after 30+ years in a band to just go "well fuck it then I quit", even faced with something like that.
Or be Malcolm young and forget to play the guitar Gotta give them credit, they've been rocking until their bodies can't rock no more
malcom young's forgotten more than just how to play guitar. the poor guy has total dementia and lives in a home
Op title is wrong. It IS a fucking joke.
Axl's in prime form at the moment, the GnR renunion is surprisingly phenomenal. If there's any time he can do it, it's now. It'll also help him shed the weight :v: Yeah I'm cool with it, it'll be weird but he's only standing in and I doubt DC will last after this tour what with Malcolm's health issues on top of Brian's. Props to Axl for stepping up
Total hearing loss sounds like the 7th circle of hell for a musician.
his hearing loss didn't even have anything to do with his time with ac/dc, but rather a time when he forgot earplugs at a race and ended up blowing an eardrum as a result
why are people so antsy about this? its actually pretty perplexing. you have a popular rock vocalist joining a popular rock band, whats the big deal? just cause you dont like axl rose? or other people dont like axl rose? cause axl rose is an idiot? its not going to really change anything. just the vocals you hear if you went to see them live at this time
Axl is so full of himself. He's not a great person in anyway. He has a horrible reputation for avoiding concerts as well. I remember my uncle telling me he went to one that was supposed to start at 7 pm and didn't start til 3-4 am the next morning. Just not the right fit for acdc. His vocals.. "May" work.. But he will butcher most songs. Especially trying to put his own "creative" input on them(which hardcore fans will tar and feather him).
Why are you talking about "creativity" when acdc have made the exact same music for the last 50 years? If you're afraid of anything changing now, that's pretty ludicrous.
Are you talking about the same band? 70's is different from 80's, even 2000's ACDC is different. You can find some similarities between razors edge from 1990 and their first 2000 album stiff upper lip. Black Ice and Rock or Bust have a more low frequency style mixed with highly variable voice you find in the first album with Brian Johnson, Back In Black. Implying that a band is exactly the same for the last 50 years is dumb. Just look at fucking metallic for example. 80's metallic is different from 90's and 2000 Metallica and that is almost 40 years. Many bands change musicians which will cause a different but not only that matters. They will try to find other tones.
This is likely the last AC/DC tour. Whats really in question is if Axl can keep his shit together and not be a total ass to everyone for the remaining stops.
This is likely the last AC/DC tour.
This is likely true, and it makes me really sad. AC/DC is my favorite band, and I was too broke to see them when they rolled through here.
