So, last night I was at a friend's house. We dug up his parents old record player and records from the basement. His dad mentioned he had some old Pink Floyd and King Crimson albums, but alas, it turned out that in an old garage sale, the wife had sold those albums for a $1 each, not realizing what they were. (rage)
Anyways, to the point. We dug up some old Blue Oyster Cult, Alan Parsons and to the subject of this thread.
We found an old Frank Marino & Maghony record, which had this cover of "All Along The Watchtower".

Which leads me to this thread. I was wondering who out there had any other Watchtower covers, and if so, please share them. I've fallen in love with this song and would love to hear lots of variations of it.
I'll post the ones I know, and will add any that people post.

There's a lot of versions of this. Jimi's my favorite.
Jimi's my fave, too, but I like the Chris De Burgh version, too.

Bear McCreary's version is pretty kickass, too.

Bobby D does it best with his harmonica
I hear there is a Dave Matthews Band cover of it too.
Haha this was our opener last year for the half time show. Man that show kicked ass.
Video of us performing it, the camera doesn't pick up all the instruments too well though. Also HQ.

This song is like the soundtrack of the fucking century. Jimi's is the best version imo. Even better than the original.
HEY! Check Richie Havens' version of AATW, it's awesome!
It's on his "By the Grace of the Sun" album.
Bob Dylan's is def. the best
The Fratelli's did a cover of the Jimi Hendrix version.
Dave Matthews does a pretty good one
Hendrix's version is the best. No doubt. Even Bob Dylan said he liked it better than his.
I've a suppriseingly good cover by The Fratellis that they did for the Radio 1 Established 1967 Album, not bad I was supprised they'ed cover it to be honist.

The Jimi version is one of my favorite song!
Jimi's version is the best, even better then the original.
THERE MUST BE SOME KINA WAY OUTTAAA HEEERE
Nothing will ever compare to Bob Dylan playing this live I apologise
Favorite rendition is Jimi's. Favorite song he does, actually. Dylan and The Beatles did EVERYTHING first, didn't they?
I like bob's
Bear McCreary's.

That's probably the most gay cover art since "Can I borrow a feeling"

I think the album art's pretty cool. I don't know what this 'gay' word means though.
