• Quitting Cigarettes

I know the best time to quit is before you start, but I was just wondering how long it takes for cigarettes to noticeably affect your health. I smoke about a pack a week. Somedays I don't smoke at all and I never would say I have 'cravings.' I thought I'd stop smoking once I start to notice affects like decreased lung capacity, etc. For those who smoke, what would it take for you to quit, and for those who've quit, when did you decide to quit?
Just drop it, it is not cool
Noone here can help you really, you'll quit when you're ready to quit.
Chew sunflower seeds, and when the cravings get worse just take 3 deep breaths so that your lungs hurt and the cravings are gone. Or.. smoke 3 cigarettes a day, none at evening. It's the dentist's suggestion.
if you have trouble quitting cigarettes dont even think about trying heroin
maybe just cut down. i mean, i don't smoke, but when i'm out (usually no more than once a month), i can sometimes smoke like 5-10 cigarettes that night. but then i don't smoke again until i'm out. i just don't make it a habit. also, does anyone else not really like the nicotine rush or the taste of tobacco, but enjoys the actual action of smoking? i freaking love messing around with the smoke, pretty much the only reason why i ever light a cigarette.
Electronic cigarette helped me. Except for the fact that I never planned on ever stopping using it :v:
What's the point of waiting until you get the negative effects man, you've tried it out for a while just stop now and move onto a safer drug. Other drugs are more fun anyway. Also sorry for not answering any of your questions :)
I quit because my boyfriend finds it disgusting, and quite honestly- it is. You just gotta put it down. It gets better after three days. The effects are pretty obvious after a month, I'd say. Wheezing, tight chest, decreased lung capacity, and more frequent breakouts among many others.
You're not 'addicted' to the cigarette, you're 'addicted' to the ritual of smoking cigarettes. Find another ritual.
No im pretty sure its the cigarrettes he is addicted to.
You're not 'addicted' to the cigarette, you're 'addicted' to the ritual of smoking cigarettes. Find another ritual.
yeah like smoking meth or shooting dope
I was kind of like you, didn't smoke too often, but enough to notice it affecting my health a little bit. Good luck.
I started smoking cigarettes when I was put on probation. I would rather smoke weed, and I think I'm going to drop the tobacco once I can toke again. And I don't consider myself addicted. I just smoke as a stress release. Used to be weed, but cops fucked me on that.
Dude, I've never had a cigarette in my life. But all throughout my life I've been living in a constant smog of cig smoke, thanks to my chain smoking parents. I can't run 30 fuckin' ft. without wheezing.
I only smoke cigs at parties, it's just something to do while you're chatting away.
I started smoking cigarette 2 years ago, at first, i needed a king size to get dosed, today, i may have difficult to smoke half a regular size, its like, the more i smoke, the more i quit.
I smoke and love it. I don't intend on cutting down nor stopping. For me the advantages for outweight the negative. If I'm hungry but don't have money to buy food, smoke a cigarette. If I'm really fucking nervous/angry, smoke a cigarette. If I'm cold, smoke a cigarette. :v: For me to quit smoking, marijuana would need to be legalised so I could smoke that openly instead.
For the past year and a half I've smoked a pack a day, but lately I've cut down to around a pack every three days. A good motivator is when you cough up stuff that makes you lose your appetite. I plan to quit all together.

Smoked about as much as you 6 months ago. Seriously trust me when I tell you it's now or never.

Don't be a quitter
only smoke in teh weekends, no problems love the nic rush, get's me pumped fak
You're not 'addicted' to the cigarette, you're 'addicted' to the ritual of smoking cigarettes. Guess it would also help with the quitting to acknowledge the fact that smoking cigarettes is basically paying money to worsen your health.
I quit smoking for 2 years, and then one day at my job, I accepted a cigarette offered to me, and then remembered the taste and feeling. I've been smoking a bit since then, but I'm quitting at the end of this year for good. I've also experimented enough with quitting cigarettes that I know how it's gonna be and how to do it. Really it's down to remembering that you have control over your actions. It might be something I like doing, but I couldn't live with myself if it controls me.

You obviously aren't mature enough to handle recreational drugs properly. I love listening to your subconscious list off excuses. It's funny. A plan which follows a logical process would be to slowly cut down on your usage. :) NOTE: This is said in my friendly tone. Please disregard my previous post in context of our conversation.
If you have the motivation, and you truly sincerely want to quit, it's not that hard. But if you're trying to quit for someone or something else it's going to be hell.

So what if he wants to 'poision' himself, it's his body, no need to get all pretentious about it.
newbs is kinda a dick
newbs is kinda a dick
Not even a good dick, an uninformed idiot dick. Don't preach bullshit that you think are facts, and yell at others because they enjoy something you don't. That's stupid.
