I think there talking about modified campaigns and custom maps.
"We'll have to filter them, we can't allow any copyrighted materials, so it's going to have to go through a process. But we're hoping perhaps we can shepherd the really popular campaigns onto 360. And you know, if they are a paid system, perhaps that could go back to the authors. I think that would be a great story."
My eternal question: How the hell aren't they bankrupt already? Infinite trust fund? Maybe Gabe is Batman?

Each of their games selling in the multi-millions helps.

Gabe in tights would not be pretty.
Valve are going to be getting emails about this for years.

They pour concentrated awesome into a money press they have in Valve headquarters.
burn cd with campaign and copy it onto hard drive, host server with campaign and others can download it. Simple.
If Microsoft like their ideas then it's simple.
Add a "Fan made" section to the DLC section.
Could this mean that we might see a 360 version of SMOD and BM:S?
This means valve games are going to lose what made them superior on PC. Ffffffff.

L4D2 mods, not source. I think 'addon' would be the more appropriate term.
Finally
Even though Im a PC Gamer I playing L4D on the Xbox better, so Hopefully this goes through.
Hope its free

Highly highly highly doubt it's that simple.
I want to say this is a bad idea for PC owners. I mean, mod support is one of the reasons to buy on the PC over the Xbox, and with L4D being gimped ( performance related console commands removed? seriously? very limited custom skin/model support) and the new (or lack of) server browser I'm starting to get worried.

uh well saying not much had to be done to port the console version and the map files use the same format etc id say itd be pretty easy to support

Valve's market has always been and always will be PC. Besides, bringing Xbox 360 relatively up to speed with PC isn't shadowing the PC market, it's just giving a hand to Xbox 360 gamers that miss out on a lot of things that PC has always had.

Dude, there's such a thing as copy protection. You really think Microsoft's stupid enough to not think about gamers copying games onto DVDs and playing them on Xbox 360? Just because they're map files doesn't make it legal.

Though I don't see how you couldn't just hand Valve the source code to your mod so they can compile it for the 360.
Well, I guess looking back on it, it's up to Microsoft. They own the platform, and while it may be legal to just put addons into the proper folder, it's not legal to copy them to a game console as the Xbox 360 doesn't use Windows for mounting Steam. Kind of a blinding flash of the obvious, but there ya go.
Though I don't see how you couldn't just hand Valve the source code to your mod so they can compile it for the 360.
I guess I'm not an authority on the subject as I've only worked with Garry's Mod, but unless the added content is worthy of being called DLC, I don't know if Valve would spare the time to compile it.

Well they'll spare the time to recompile the maps, why not a mod?
