But I'm translating a catalogue that I've made in Slovenian.
It's about woodworking, like balcony fences and making roofs and also covering the roofs and similar.
Although my English is otherwise pretty good in other technical departments, I'm lacking in roofing technical terms.
I would appreciate if someone would help me look for synonyms or proper terms.
Like for example:
SLO- nadstrešnica/nadstrešek
ENG (google translate)- carport
Though google images does indeed find the correct structure under carport, I am actually looking for a more general term as 'nadstrešnica' in Slovenian means any kind of roof with only pillars and no walls. You can put them on balconies, above porches and so on...
I would appreciate any help at all.
So are you just looking for the general form word? If it has no walls, but supports, and just a roof, I'd usually call it an AWNING.
