Plot twist: they were trying to keep Bourne out of it so it wouldn't turn into another movie about Jason Bourne.

It really bothers me that two white guys seem to be in the spotlight, it shits on all the exotic Asian appeal this movie could/should have had.

i wish matt damon got less time in the trailer compared to the other actors but i don't dislike the premise itself. it's just alternate history and they could make something cool out of it.

I'm not sure the movie will be this terrible. ofc they neglect the race of the people with their main role and make it all fantasy like but perhaps it goes in my "stupid but still entertaining action" shelve.

Dunno what you guys are bitching about, obviously it isn't trying to be historical. The movie looks well-made and fun to watch, so it won't be terrible for sure.

The story of the (short lived) Boshin War and the creation of what would become the Empire of Japan is a beautifully tragic story of old traditions subverted for new, families forced to change sides, and the idea that, as a people, Japan couldn't stay locked up forever. But no gotta have TOMMMM CROOOOS

If people really want producers to take that critic seriously, the audience must start showing interest for those type of movies and characters, which doesn't happen all that often.
