Welcome to the brand new Yu-Gi-Oh! Megathread! This is the place if you want to discuss anything related to the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise.
[b]What is Yu-Gi-Oh?[/b]
Yu-Gi-Oh (or YGO for short) is a franchise owned by Shueisha and licensed by Konami that spans multiple animes,mangas and is currently the world's largest trading card game.
[b]YGO Anime[/b]
Currently there are 4 major YGO anime series. The original (Duel Monsters) with Yugi and the gang, the second one a few years later in the future called GX with Judai (Jaden), the third one 5D's (which popularized card games on motorcycles) with Yusei and introduced the powerful Synchro Monsters. And the brand new yet to be translated Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal (pronounced zeal, don't ask me why) with Yuma which introduces the XYZ Monsters (Pronounced like sneeze).
[b]YGO TCG/OCG[/b]
The Yu-Gi-Oh! card game (known as the YGO Trading Card Game overseas and the YGO OCG in Japan) is the biggest trading card game in the world starting with the Legend of Blue-Eyes Booster back in 2000 and continuing on to the soon to be released Photon Shockwave Booster.
Those of you who follow the metagame of the card game or are interested in the more complicated aspects might want to consult Pojo, one of the greatest sites for YGO information,strategy,guides,rules,decks and whatnot. If you want to play online for free against fellow Facepunchers then try out Dueling Network, a website dedicated to the simulation of the YGO OCG.

Ever wanted to try out the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG online against your friends/the world? Well with the recently released Dueling Network website run by Black Luster Soldier you can!
[b]What is Dueling Network?[/b]
Dueling Network is an online simulation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and OCG card game which is very easy to register for, use and is completely free.
[b]Well there has to be some sort of catch right?[/b]
Well yes there is, this program uses the manual style dueling system which means you'll have to manually play your cards and play out the game as if you were playing it in real life. It also requires intermediate level knowledge of the rules
[b]Well how do I get started?[/b]
I'll break it down in a couple steps.
1.Navigate and register for the Dueling Network website
2.Log in and make a deck in the Deck Constructor
3.Head over to the Duel Room and duel players online

There is a ranking system but if you are new I would avoid it because that is where competitive players test out the best decks to prepare for regional and national tournaments, sticking to the Advanced unranked play lobby is a good idea if you are new or want to play decks you've never played before.

I used to own a bunch of cards but I never really remember playing it. My friends and I just looked at the pictures.
Some of the older artwork is really good, most of it still holds well to the computer generated stuff they use now.
I'm probably selling my cards this summer.

I remember someone I know obtaining that card a while back. Fucker was so smug.
Not even like that card is really good today anyways, I just can't fucking find it. Not even the online card stores I regular have it in stock.
I got other stuff like Blue Eyes, Black Luster Soldier, Relinquished, etc.

I have some Relinquished somewhere I think, I can't remember if I still have it or gave it away though when I stopped playing.
