Now in an interview with Game Informer, Nomura has said the time has come for the hybrid Disney and Square RPG series to make a return on consoles.
“We have been invited to make games on different new platforms, and every time we have created titles making sure that they are highly compatible with the platform,” said Nomura, touching upon the launch of PlayStation Vita.
“The PS Vita is definitely a powerful device that is very interesting, but because of it’s high power, there isn’t much of a difference with a console. So even if we were to make a game, we would have to be very careful about how to create it for that device.
“I also feel that it’s about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console.”
On future plans, Nomura stayed mum but said players should finish 3DS title Dream Drop Distance to the end.
“I’m not able to disclose any information on what’s coming next or any other future plans, but you may be able to find a hint if you play through Dream Drop Distance to the very end.”

Eh. Kingdom Hearts became to complicated to be fun.
I've only played the first two PS2 games. I'd gladly welcome a third console version.
The games are fun, if only they'd get rid of those juvenile, intolerably annoying cartoon characters that make the game embarrassing to be caught playing. The Disney ones are okay though.

As a guy who never played them I have a very bad opinion of them.
It seems every fan had a name like XxXHeartless~Sora~Xxx online and went on and on about how certain character were invincible badasses. And oh god the fan art people used to draw in school and all the nerdy fan girls and all that stuff. It was embarrassing to watch.

I once had to sit through an english class where some dude gave a speech about why Kingdom Hearts was great because it gave you freedom of choice and decisions.
The story line won't make sense for any of you unless you see the BBS, and 3D games.

Jesus and I thought me having to sit through an embarassing 15 minute powerpoint presentation (that was supposed to be 30min long) with a generic WoW screenshot as the background on what game design is (in a class that was a study on design, for a graphic designer degree) was bad.
I only played the original 2, but they were fantastic games. The fan base, though...
That's that weird game with Anime guys and Disney characters right? I played bits of it years ago, it was pretty fun. If it has a fan base I don't see why it shouldn't make a return.

Dream Drop Distance comes between 2 and 3, it's on the 3DS. Unlike Chain of Memories, it's like the real deal

The talimancers and interspecies fanart people are creepy but I still enjoy Mass Effect :v: Every fandom has it's fucking weirdos, just simply ignore them or keep it to yourself if you don't want to be considered a part of that.

Everyone fandom has it's weirdos, but some more than others. I.e., Mass Effect, Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, Sonic, and that which shall not be mentioned.
Kingdom Hearts I and II were two of the greatest games I've ever played. I've never played any of the handheld games (not a fan), but if KH III were to come out I would get it.

Nope, KH III is the new Duke Nukem: Forever. Give it another 10 or so years until it's finally out.
Though I do hope it will be the 3rd game.
