• Israel looking to mend ties with UN Rights Council, but says 'anti-semitism' must end
Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin confirmed on Tuesday that Israel is working to resume ties with the Geneva-based United Nations Human Rights Council. But he warned that any such resumption will depend on the council changing its “built-in discrimination” against Israel. Speaking at the Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism in Jerusalem, Elkin noted that Israel froze relations with the UN agency a year ago because of its ongoing discrimination against Israel, which he even termed “anti-Semitism.” But since then, Elkin said, many countries have asked Israel to resume cooperating with the council. “After much deliberation I recently agreed to diplomatic engagement with the Council and major actors in the international community to see if we can arrive at understandings and guarantees that will enable our return to the council while ensuring that fair play and international standards are applied towards Israel,” Elkin told the conference, confirming what Haaretz reported earlier this month. A senior Foreign Ministry official said that a few days ago, Elkin ordered Israel's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Aharon Leshno-Yaar, who heads the ministry’s International Organizations Division, to go to council’s headquarters in Geneva and begin negotiations on a resumption of ties. In his speech, Elkin listed several issues that Israel plans to raise during these negotiations. Saying that the council suffers from “built-in discrimination” against Israel, he elaborated, “Israel is not a member of any regional grouping and it is the only country which has an agenda item, the infamous item 7, specifically to condemn its so called violations of human rights. Gotta love how since their a jewish state, they can do whatever they want and any criticism they receive is just deflected off their anti-antisemitism shields.
so called violations of human rights.
Uh, yeah? Like building homes on land that you don't own? But that a neighboring country owns? Yes. Oh but of course, I forgot what's at the bottom of the sources web page.
Haaretz.com, the online edition of Haaretz Newspaper in Israel, and analysis from Israel and the Middle East. Haaretz.com provides extensive and in-depth coverage of Israel, the Jewish World and the Middle East, including defense, diplomacy, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the peace process, Israeli politics, Jerusalem affairs, international relations, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the Israeli business world and Jewish life in Israel and the Diaspora.
[editline]28th May 2013[/editline] This is worse than Fox News, somehow. Okay, it's Israeli Fox News.

Levy writes opinion pieces and a weekly column for the newspaper Haaretz that often focus on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. A notable journalist on the Israeli left,[1] Levy has been characterized as a "heroic journalist" by some,[2] by others as a "propagandist for the Hamas".
Just a example of some of the things they've published.
Motherfuckers. You can't keep hiding behind the holocaust, and I shouldn't have to say that because it's insanely disrespectful to the victims of the actual holocaust.
fuck you israel
lol, are you being serious right now Anyone that ever skimmed Haaretz can tell that it's really left wing.
It does not matter if it is left or right. In the end they all support the same perspective and it only gives you the illusion of choice. Front page. Whoever uses the word anti-Semitism have got to be the biggest assholes. Hell the word itself is never used properly these days and used purely to sound smart or when Israel uses it to justify racial discrimination and invasion.

Hell the word itself is never used properly these days and used purely to sound smart or when Israel uses it to justify racial discrimination and invasion.
Technically... The correct word is judeophobia, as semitism refers to a whole lot of ethnic groups, most of them arabic, that include but are not limited to jews.
It does not matter if it is left or right. In the end they all support the same perspective and it only gives you the illusion of choice.
Actually, no, it's pretty different than other newspapers. Compare it to "israel hayom" and tell me there is no difference.
Israel using the holocaust as political leverage is far worse than any words you can say about it. The biggest insult to the people who died is Israel itself. Israel needs to fuck off.
It's like that retarded kid that fucks up and gets away with it because he's retarded, but if you see through his shit and speak up, you're the bad guy.
