Hello, I am 17 looking for a car. My budget is <$5000. What is the best car that: 1. Looks good. 2. Isn't Honda. 3. Is reliable. 4. Has good performance. 5. Could be possibly a coupe. Thanks :D I live in Canada btw, so kijiji.ca and autotrader.ca? :P
Whats so bad about Honda anyways? They are cheap and reliable, especially for a first car, get a little civic, if you knock it around a bit at least you're not paying an insane amount to repair it, they are also decent on mpg. Looks are mainly opinion though
uhh, why
I don't feel like driving around a 100 hp engine with a leaf blower attached to the back looking like I am desperate to attract attention.
I don't feel like driving around a 100 hp engine with a leaf blower attached to the back looking like I am desperate to attract attention.
Idiots modifying their cars with fart cans have nothing to do with the performance of a car. If you want something that goes fast, is cheap, and is reliable, you're stuck pretty much with either Honda, Mazda or Subaru.
Then make it not sound like a leaf blower? Anyways what part of Canada?

I am finding lots of ads like this: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2000-Ford-Mustang-Automatic-Coupe-W0QQAdIdZ315202355 They look good. Anyone know? They are just cheap and reliable.
You don't need something that goes fast anyways, you're 17

I guess I will just get my dad's pontiac grand prix. It looks good, he used syntetic oil for all the changes of 120k miles, and it has 200hp. What should I do with the extra $2 grand? What modifications will make it better?
save the money for the alt. when it goes out.

Acura is the luxury branch of Honda
Mazda's and Honda's do NOT go fast lol. They are just cheap and reliable.
So you're one of those people. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/mss/cto/2562280871.html 2003 honda accord coupe EX. 240hp v6 0-60mph(0-100kmh) in less than 7 seconds

I can kick half the shit out on the streets asses without breaking a sweat and I'm pulling less than 150 hp. Who told you mazda and honda were shit? I need to know so i can go slap them. Don't get me wrong i myself love stangs, but just because it has a mustang logo doesn't mean it is good or fast, especially if it is a base, bottom of the line model. Get yerself a boss 302 or Salleen/Roush and then you can have one that is actually good
The Accord Dylan posted is better in every way. Not to mention more luxurious, safer, more reliable, and isn't a Pontiac. Honda: Grand Prix:
Except: 1)the Honda has 60k km more. 2)engine not changed with synthetic oil. 3)I get the grand prix free, I get 5k extra to do whatever I want. Also regarding to Justin, when I talk about hondas and mazdas, I talk about the ones that are the most common. Try racing a 4 cylinder civic or a 4 cylinder Mazda 3 versus the grand prix. Yes, those special japanese cars are fast, only take up 1% of honda market, and Honda drivers. Those Japanese cars are fast, indeed, but the insurance goes off the scale for those.
If you had the option to get a newer car for free, i don't even see why you made a thread. There would be no point in buying a car that is worth almost the same as a car you could get for free. Just keep your money and save up for something cooler like a 350z, s2000, or something. My mom has the same grand prix, and it's decently quick, but has had quite a bit of strut issues. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] I also personally feel that grand prix's are girls cars. I've only ever seen girls drive them.
I personally feel that hondas are for old people. The black grand prix is not Girly at all. The other collies like red are. I made this thread to see the other options. if that's for girls, I don't know what is for men.
Insurance is actually only $100 more than it was with my 1997 GMC Jimmy, which was like $50 less than my K10
DURR HE DONT WANT HONDU LUTS DERUL THRED HUHHUHHUH get a grand am bro guddest car ever.

Prius will solve your performance issues.

He didn't mention synthetic oil. 3. That 5k extra will be in repair bills. It's a late model GM in GMs bad era. And a regular Mazda 3 would kick the Grand Prix V6's ass. It has 167 HP in a car that weighs way less, and if you get the Speed3, it has 263HP out of an I4. And the Civic SI would kick the GP's ass too.
