So they're blaming Anon because PSN's security is shit?
hackers on steroids!!!!!!!
You can't seriously accuse a decentralized (relatively) peaceful group just by a stupid notepad with 3 words? If they're smart enough to hack your stupid system then they're not stupid enough to leave evidence pointing towards them.
It is Templars!
If I remember correct, they didn't even really get literally 'hacked'. But some group found a way to get a Dev update, and got Dev shit on their Ps3, and when they were found out, they ended up taking shit with them because Sony is too stupid to encrypt all their data. It isn't like it was a planned attack, I feel like it was just the group trying to play free games and got much more than what they were planning on. But I may be wrong, just my thoughts.
I hope this teaches Sony not to do stupid shit like sue a hacker or something..........
But in reality I bet Sony is just gonna improve the security and provoke them by suing more hackers.

Suing a hacking isn't wrong, it's how they went about the entire situation that was wrong.
My ps3 is collecting dust right now.
why does the media/companies seem to think that 'anonymous' is an organized group like 'ooo sign up here'
bunch of random 4channers thats it, who mostly bitch

Well to be honest, I hope they find and sue the shit out of the people who did this. Tampering with a machine that you own to do whatever you want is one thing. Stealing and potentially selling the personal information of millions of people is another.
I'm not saying Sony isn't at fault; their security was certainly terrible from what I've read. But these 'hackers' definitely crossed the line when they intruded into the personal identities of millions of people who trusted Sony.
Whoever stole all the customer data definitely used Anonymous as a scapegoat, but Sony can't blame Anonymous, because they kind of set themselves up for this

usually starts like that. read the interview about that german dude who hacked valve and ended up leaking the hl2 beta.
Leave it to sony to pick the wrong words to encompass such a huge problem, I don't think Hotz being prosecuted doesn't justify the takedown of a massive networking system, compromising millions of user accounts, and subsequent fraud. Using the word "Vigilante" makes it sound like Zorro caused all of this, and we all know Zorro died with the American Dream in a fireball of glory.
Despite all of this, I still use my PS3 daily.
Netflix and porn anyone?

Netflix is for kids who don't know how to use torrents.

Sony should take some fucking responsibility for once. Bunch of fucks.
And now I have zero regrets of selling my ps3. If you would rather make excuses because whoever did this put a file on the server named anonymous then you should just shut up and fire whoever said lets say that.
Anyone can just do that and put it on the damn server. All they give a damn about is bringing the service down via a DDOS which they did already. This is someone else. Anon isnt this stupid to take credit card info.
Anon is not even a specific group.
Anyone can say "I'm a part of that group" and leave that note, or just do it for shits and giggles.
This is stupid. They blame hackers for hacking their poorly secured system, thanks for stating the obvious.

Wow... that's just... horribly dumb for you to say.

He technically can't get banned for it because he didn't directly talk about participating in warez activity. The rules say that talking about pirating is okay, but when you admit to doing it, it's bannable.

They did.

You get banned on Technicalities here, not off on them.
Bull. Shit. Anonymous isn't organized enough to pull shit like this off.
