DETROIT (Reuters) - Tesla Motors Inc <TSLA.O> won a near-perfect score for its Model S electric car in an annual owner-satisfaction survey conducted by influential magazine Consumer Reports and released Thursday.
The results offer a rare piece of good news for Tesla, which has faced increasingly tough questions after three cars caught fire in less than two months. This week, U.S. regulators launched a safety probe into the Model S.
"Owners of the Tesla Model S gave it the highest owner-satisfaction score Consumer Reports has seen in years: 99 out of 100," the magazine said.

only 3 times recorded thus far.
Hopefully this pushes the stock back up!
That's the beta model in the OP by the way.

Slight differences.
I kinda like the front end of the beta model more.

I think the second one is blue and the first one is white.
Beta one looks more "friendly"
You will never own that car
You will never own that car
I will once I win the lottery!
If I can ever afford a 1.5K/M payment I will buy one. But, well, poor college student.
I'm in love
You will never own that car
For what it is and what they're offering, it's actually a very reasonable price for a regular car in that price range, nevermind an electric one.
Why have none of the big car manufacturers realised that you can make an electric or hybrid vehicle look like a nice car, not a washing machine with wheels?

My dad has one, and we are by no means rich. It's really not all that expensive when you consider other electric cars.

So many electric vehicles are trying to be ~futuristic~ and it doesn't really work.

If you get the lowest powered model and you factor in savings it's actually fairly affordable.

Model S?

But that would mean gasoline wouldn't be profitable anymore!
If all electric cars looked good people would probably flock to them more.

I think the problem is more that electric cars aren't exactly affordable and not that they don't look good.
I was quite surprised to see one of this here in Missouri a few days ago. I'm looking forward to widespread adoption, but I still think America will lag behind the physically smaller countries, like the UK, by a fair few years. We'll need a lot more time to build a proper infrastructure for electric vehicles.
It would be nice to offer tax incentives for driving electric vehicles and such. Unless we do, already. Do we? Hold on, I'm checking.
Ye, we do. That's nice.
I thought they were proposing taxes on electric vehicles because they pay for the roads through taxes on gasoline.

Undoubtedly, yeah. America's just too dang big. Like, physically big. Teslas would rule for the daily commuter, but for somebody who lived out in the boondoggles or had to regularly drive extended distances, it would be a very inadequate choice of vehicle-- at least until we've expanded nationwide infrastructure for this kind of technology to the point where you can find a charge station for a quick battery swap without having to drive more than a few minutes out of your way.

The only real stupid looking electric cars on sale (in the US) are the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV (which is basically a glorified golf cart)

Wretched.
Most of the other electrics are basically just regular cars with modified front ends for a more aerodynamic shape.

The Volt technically isn't electric as it has a gas motor for fueling the batteries, but it shares a lot of design features with electric cars.

I'm starting to see them quite regularly in Texas now. Saw one just yesterday. I've even seen one heading out to nowhere on the way home from a road trip from San Antonio.

Yeah, it's easy to be affordable when all your profit doesn't come from actually selling cars. (They would have lost money if they didn't have all the carbon emissions to sell and subsidies on sales) So, hey, if you think they're doing good work, that's fine, but no one should pretend they're providing a service for real people. They provide a service for activists.
Wish I could afford one.
I love the glass roof so much.
It's one of those cars that'd be awesome to drive through a city and look up out the roof at the skyscrapers.

Tesla's is huge, but those panoramic sunroofs are found on tons of cars.
