So A Serious Man is a black comedy/drama brought to you by the Coen Brothers, famous for movies such as Fargo and the Big Lebowksi, two films I hold dear to my heart. Especially the Big Lebowski. It takes place in 1967, Minnesota. It follows a Jewish physics teacher who seems to be going through a very hard time in his life. If you're anti-semite you will hate this movie as it is very Jewish. You can still enjoy it as a non-jewish person such as myself. I think it does deserve that Oscar nomination as it is a very well-done movie. The story is very deep and thoughtful, and there are some very funny scenes in the movie. I really wouldn't recommend to everyone as it is one of those thinker movies that may leave you confused at the end if you aren't used to those type of movies, but if you are it isn't hard to pick up on the main message of the movie. I recommend watching the movie if it interests you. I give it 7 thumbs up.
I still need to see this. The Coens have made two of my favourite films, The Big Lebowski and O Brother Where Art Thou.

I really enjoyed Burn After Reading. I assume it's a dark comedy in a similar fashion?
I really like all of Coens stuff, I loved Burn after Reading. But this movie had me bored. Maybe I need to watch it again and pay more attention, or maybe I'm just stupid.
I didn't much care for this movie. I can't put my finger on the reason why I didn't like it for some reason though.
