The man had reportedly made threats against his employer and police found a cache of weapons at his home. The news channel reports that the man was facing termination from his job at Pitney Bowes in Prince George's County and that weapons were found in his home when he was taken into custody. WJLA reported that authorities found an "arsenal" of weapons and that the man had made threats toward his employer. Some 25 firearms were recovered from his home, reported WUSA9News Now reporter Andrea McCarren. The firearms reportedly included semi-automatic rifles and handguns as well as ammunition. WUSA reported the suspect called a former co-worker with threats to shoot his boss and workers. The co-worker reportedly called police. The arrest comes one week after a gunman killed 12 people and injured 58 during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO. Police arrested the sole suspect, 24-year-old James Eagan Holmes, in the parking lot of the theater. A press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Prince George's County police headquarters. Anne Arundel County police had no comment on the reports but did confirm spokesman Justin Mulcahy will be at the press conference with Prince George's County police.
Ugh. People suck.
Pretty much proves the guy in this clip right
just a few bad apples!!
just a few bad apples!!
Did you even READ the article?
just a few bad apples!!
What? Are you like saying that double ironically because the police did something good?
just a few bad apples!!
Yup, that's very related.
What? Are you like saying that double ironically because the police did something good?
im more concerned about people legally stockpiling weapons so that they can go on killing sprees and how the majority of FP is against gun control not sure how cops play into my statement
If you're a disgruntled employee planning to shoot up your former workplace, you probably will be caught if you call telling them you plan to attack beforehand.
im more concerned about people legally stockpiling weapons so that they can go on killing sprees and how the majority of FP is against gun control not sure how cops play into my statement
Attempt more strenuous gun control in America, I dare you, surely nothing could go wrong right?
Attempt more strenuous gun control in America, I dare you, surely nothing could go wrong right?
Guns are not the problem in America. Mental health is.
just a few bad apples!!
This is like if I went into a thread about how a wild mountain lion mauled several people to death and had to be captured and put down and I replied "Oh if people get hurt Facepunch is fine with it but as soon as a kitten gets hurt, you guys shout 'Death Penalty'!"
im more concerned about people legally stockpiling weapons so that they can go on killing sprees and how the majority of FP is against gun control not sure how cops play into my statement
There have been two shootings recently. This is proof that more stringent gun control is needed? That will surely stop the huge numbers of illegal firearms that are prolific in areas like Chicago and NYC that have extremely strict gun control and high rates of crime.
Guns are not the problem in America. Mental health is.
Putting guns in the hands of the stupid is the worst idea fathomable, slightly more so than giving stupid people the ability to drive a car but that fact of the matter is guns are so widespread and in the hands of gun nuts that if you try and tighten gun control you will still have the issue of all the guns that are already available, and if you try to take guns from people I'd bet both my left and right nut that more than a few stereotypical dipshits would go all "the gubment takin mah guns brandeen keel em!" It's impossible to get a working solution now. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline]
There have been two shootings recently. Here's an idea, stop selling guns as a nation, seriously give me an actual legitimate reason that anyone in America outside the armed forces or police force needs a gun?

Since Giuliani took office, crime, especially violent crime, has seen a sharp decline. iirc NYC is actually one of the safest large cities to live in. by comparison Washington D.C., ratewise, has twice the number of violent crimes and 4x the number of murders as NYC
Yeah I'm sure that everyone who goes on a killing spree or shoots someone was bananas, tell me about how everyone who shot someone as a crime of passion or under a ton of stress was actually just crazy all their life and great at hiding it. Here's an idea, stop selling guns as a nation, seriously give me an actual legitimate reason that anyone in America outside the armed forces or police force needs a gun?
Why is it that after any mass shooting, people want to take guns away from the people that didn't do it? I'm within my rights to own weapons and I would never dream of using them other than for range shooting or defensively if I had to. Ceasing the sale of guns is the dumbest fucking thing because the people that have guns illegally, who don't follow laws, will have the upper hand. I guess you didn't hear the stories about all the times that armed robberies were thwarted by people legally carrying. What's my legit reason for owning weapons? 1. To defend myself at 3am if my door is kicked in. Happens all the fucking time, everywhere. It's called home invasion. People get tied up, beaten, etc while their home is robbed. 2. I like to shoot. I enjoy the technology of firearms and the joy it brings me to spend a day at the range with friends. 3. Second amendment. I don't want the government to have an upper hand on me. I'm allowed to therefore I will. 4. Maryland just overturned the "Good and substantial" clause in the concealed carry law. Once I apply, I can now protect myself outside of my home with my 45. If I am robbed at gunpoint in the city or I'm in a 711 while it's being robbed, I can be on the defensive. Still want to ban guns? Tell me more about how criminals follow gun laws.

Really, don't dodge the point, it's not like he can go on a shooting spree if he doesn't have a gun and believe me I think you're all amazingly idiotic for selling guns at any time not just after a shooting. And fuck that whole "it's my right to own a gun!" it's a fucking tool used to maul and murder, nothing else, by saying it's within your rights to own a gun you are, in my opinion, essentially saying you have the right to choose whether or not people get to live or die. Either way like I said before there will never be a solution now because guns are so stupidly wide spread and ingrained into Americas culture that the removal of them is totally impossible. And congratulations someone defended their possessions with a gun, bravo, honestly are you willing to take the risk of waving a gun at someone else who has a gun just cause they're stealing your shit? I dunno maybe it's just me but I try and avoid retarded risks for no reason so I probably wouldn't be waving a gun around.
it's not like he can go on a shooting spree if he doesn't have a gun .
Uh, yes he can. Compound bows used against humans can be pretty damn devastating/lethal, oh, whoops, better ban compounds bows too since they have no sporting/recreational purposes like firear- wait a minute. Also you're a tool, if you didn't already know that.
Uh, yes he can. Compound bows used against humans can be pretty damn devastating/lethal. Seriously what horrendously impractical bastard, would go on a killing spree with a compound bow? Really?

Banning guns is stupid. If Holmes had no gun, he'd use a homemade bomb. He already had his house wired with them, not hard to bring them into the movies. Go ahead, keep on with your hippy "gunz iz scary" crap. You'll get torn up in here.

A compound bow would be much better to rob someone with than a knife. Umm, people go on killing spree's with a axes, chainsaws, knives, baseball bats, hammers, or just their hands. A tool, is a fucking TOOL. How you use said TOOL is up to you. FYI, if you can't get my implications, a firearm is a TOOL.
If Holmes had no gun, he'd use a homemade bomb. Had he made some IED with ball bearings or nails and detonated it in a packed movie theater.....
Who the fuck robs someone with a knife or a sword? A compound bow would be much better to rob someone with than a knife.
Yep, or a crossbow. It's basically a gun.
Criminals don't obey gun control laws.
But every 'criminal gun' starts its life off inside of a legitimate civilian arms factory :downs:
Where does it say anything about a mass shooting? He has a large collection sure but that doesn't mean shit.
