"Anonymous" allegedly hacks Bank of America; Bank of America spying on Anonymous and OWS.
You’ve probably already heard of Anonymous, the world’s most infamous group of cybertrolling hacktivists. They frequently make headlines for crashing websites and looting corporate and government servers. Usually these hacktivists come together in defense of others, such as Julian Assange, the people of Gaza, victims of police brutality, or even victims of rape. But now, Anonymous has turned its eyes on a personal rival. This enemy has its own cybersquad of secret spies who, according to Anonymous, spend the majority of their time in chat rooms collecting intelligence about them. With this latest release of stolen data, Anonymous has just pulled back the curtain on their foe: the Bank of America.
the keywords allegedly used for datamining are pretty weird. "homosexual" and "demonology"?
A list of thousands of keywords was included in the released data, presumably to aid Bank of America in data mining. According to Par:AnoIA, “The keyword list is just ridiculous. It has become a running joke to use the keywords in every sentence now, rendering it useless.” The ridiculousness of the keywords frankly cannot be overstated. Among the words Bank of America was searching for, I found “homosexual,” “demonology,” and “Buck 65.” The last is the name of a Canadian hip-hop artist. However there are also terms like “OccupyWallStreet,” “Internet Kill Switch,” and “Interrogation.”
So Bank of America is ran by Templars?
so bank of america thinks anonymous is comprised of homosexual demonologists? :v:
Leave my bank alone anon. Fuck off, basement dwellers.
So why are the banks spying on the anons? Don't you think they'd contract that shit out to professionals?
Leave anon alone banks. Fuck off, corporate america.
yeah them possibly getting my information from BoA to further their own agenda is totally okay with me :)))))))))))))))
So why are the banks spying on the anons? Don't you think they'd contract that shit out to professionals?
They did, they hired TEKSystems to "spy" on the chatrooms and report anything they "find' back to BoA.
:)))))))))))))))
whoa what an edgy guy
I can tell, cause he's being sarcastic
lmao

yeah them possibly getting my information from BoA to further their own agenda is totally okay with me :)))))))))))))))
solution: stop doing business with evil people.
watch dogs
solution: stop doing business with evil people.
so lemme get this straight when anon does things its okay but when others do it its evil?
lmao
Leave anon alone banks. Fuck off, corporate america.
Oh no! A bank outsourced work to something called TEKsystems and then proceeded to just analyze things and help track down things like credit card theft and happened to take an interest in anonymous because they have a habit of doing stupid things and wanted to be careful. Then some off-shoot of anonymous called paranoia proceeds to extract “4.8 Gigabyte of data containing detailed career and salary information of thousands of executives and employees from various corporations all around the world”. Bank of America REALLY is the bad guy here right?

most of FP will defend anon like a rabid neckbeard, don't bother
so lemme get this straight when anon does things its okay but when others do it its evil?

The Bank of America are over actively abusing there power for nefarious reasons.
yeah them possibly getting my information from BoA to further their own agenda is totally okay with me :)))))))))))))))
So what's worse, your bank is hacked and they get your personal details, or your bank didn't secure your details to protect against a hack?
So what's worse, your bank is hacked and they get your personal details, or your bank didn't secure your details to protect against a hack?
that's a horrible comparison, that's like saying "Well you should have wore a bulletproof vest otherwise you wouldn't have died from getting shot from those bank robbers"
that's a horrible comparison, that's like saying "Well you should have wore a bulletproof vest otherwise you wouldn't have died from getting shot from those bank robbers"
That doesn't even remotely begin to make sense.
Did Anonymous actually murder you by stealing your life savings? Were you even involved in the data leak in the first place, or are you just trying to prove us sheeple wrong through your incredible wit and commentary?
that's a horrible comparison, that's like saying "Well you should have wore a bulletproof vest otherwise you wouldn't have died from getting shot from those bank robbers"
Who is going around shooting random civilians after robbing a bank?
That doesn't even remotely begin to make sense.

are you really saying that stealing your life savings is no big deal
but i'm not even going to try, there's no use when most here on fp circlejerk to anon
are you really saying that stealing your life savings is no big deal
I meant that I doubt that they stole your money, or even leaked your information to begin with.
but i'm not even going to try, there's no use when most here on fp circlejerk to anon
oh welp, you showed me. We're all just blind puppets of the media.
so lemme get this straight when anon does things its okay but when others do it its evil?
lmao
well yea when bank of america does evil things they are evil and when anon exposes things about an evil corporation it's totally okay.
Oh no! bank of america is evil for several reasons, it just so happens to be interesting that they are spying on activists, although it shouldn't be unexpected.
are you really saying that stealing your life savings is no big deal

The fact you are taking such a black and white position on this is mind boggling. I am by no means supporting Anon, but BoA isn't right either. They are both wrong.
most of FP will defend anon like a rabid neckbeard, don't bother
In this case you're right, but it's only because the alternative is defending a *shudders* business.
In this case you're right, but it's only because the alternative is defending a *shudders* business.
well anyone, even the cool kids fuck the corporation yolos will rely on a business someday, so it's fairly ironic. nonetheless, i rely on BoA so i hope anon fucks off
and im really tired of hearing about anon, in reality they dont do much
In this case you're right, but it's only because the alternative is defending a *shudders* business.
Or you could take my approach and say they are both wrong.
[editline]3rd March 2013[/editline]
i rely on BoA so i hope anon fucks off
There are alternatives to BoA out there that are less nefarious.
the term "hacktivist" is worse than beige bras.
Or you could take my approach and say they are both wrong.
Yes but where is the fun in being mature?

no last time i checked on fp all businesses ever were evil except valve
So Bank of America is ran by Templars?
Boom! there's the new Assassins creed game :v:
no last time i checked on fp all businesses ever were evil except valve
All businesses are evil, just some businesses are more evil than others.
