I've been having some problems with my computer lately so i was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what is going on or if you don't know then (Title).
What's wrong:
Usually i start up my computer and it runs for about a half an hour fine, but after that my start menu and bar stop working and there is a loading icon when i go over it. I can't open up any programs but i can close them and minimize but when i minimize them i can't get them back open because my start bar is still loading. Also when it goes into screen saver it never comes back out.
Please. HELP!!!!!!!
-Backup your files
-Format
-Reinstall Vista (Or better yet, get Win7)

ctrl + alt + delete
start process explorer.exe
Factory reset? Do you mean format?
i would but i can't reinstall vista because it was already on my computer when i bought it so i don't have the disks
Wrong section, but you have to format the hard drive. It basically resets everything that you've ever had on it. BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE OS DISC TO RE-INSTALL VISTA BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!
Ok well i don't have the disk so i'm going to have to get windows7 before i do it

I'm pretty sure you can call the computer company and get a disk but I guess getting a new OS would work
OP, for the love of god don't even touch your computer anymore.
If you don't even know the basics I'm afraid you might manage to kill yourself with your cordless mouse.
PC's and Notebooks THANKS GOD don't have Windows or any other OS in any form of permanent memory nor flash, which cell phones and smart phones do, so you can't get windows back by any form of restart. Only exception is BIOS which takes care of the boot process, and if I am right is saved in EEPROM.
To get in an operating system, you have to use outer data storage like DVD or flash.
